For a backpacker, the room was luxurious. It was spacious, clean, comfortable and had the usual amenities like fridge, hair dryer, tv, coffee maker, coffee and toiletries. Very comfortable bed and pillows. There was a shower curtain in the bathroom, which was nice, so you avoid getting the entire floor wet. I arrived early, but got my room straight away. Friendly staff in the reception. Free use of bicycles. Cold drinks and noodles for sale in the reception. It was nice to have a small balcony, although there were no chairs on it, so you have to move a chair in and out between the desk and the balcony. Excellent WiFi, and despite it said on Booking.com that there was WiFi in public areas, it worked perfectly in the room as well.
I don't actually choose hotels based on the standard of the rooms! I spend a lot of time researching hotels carefully reading the description on Booking.com. It was what I read there which got me here in the first place: 'Garden, outdoor sitting area, designated smoking area'. NONE of that exists anymore, unless you count standing on the street as a designated smoking area! So disappointing.
The room had old style wiring inside the walls, so I was struggling finding any electricity outlets, as the one for the fridge and the tv had a strange 'special' solution. In the end I found one behind the sofa, and one behind the top end of the table, both very well hidden. The hotel is a bit far from the bus station, but if just the common areas had been as described, it would have been so nice.
