Wonderful location with views from the pool to the City Palace. We liked the stepped entrance and the flautist in the courtyard in the morning. The place had a great ambience and had some nice details. Great air conditioning, good amounts of hot water. We benefited from late check out.
There was some initial reluctance to serve some drinks to us pool side - compounded by failure to provide pool towels. On the first night we had a very good dinner and wanted to have our desert on the roof - we were told we could not do this, since the roof top bar was a separate concern? Which seemed very odd and a little disappointing and put us off having desert. The hotel was quiet due to the time of the year - this meant that the first floor bar was closed, but the pool was often nice and quiet. So there were pluses and minuses. On balance better to have the pool largely to ourselves - with full occupancy I imagine it would be difficult. The fridge kicked out warmth rather than coolth, seems to be a common theme with these mini fridges in our stays across India though.
Swimming pool, food and location

I’d highly recommend Manuscript (10/10) if you’re visiting Udaipur. The food, service, rooms, and overall aesthetics of the hotel were absolutely amazing. Honestly, the only good food we had in Udaipur was at their restaurant, Dore, everything else we tried at the so-called “hyped” places in Udaipur was really disappointing.
The cocktails were beautifully presented, and the rooftop is stunning, with a breathtaking view of the City Palace. Coming from Stockholm, I can confidently say the cocktails were top-notch. Whoever is managing this place knows what they are doing!
The property is perfectly located in the city centre, everything from the main markets to the palaces is within walking distance. We had three cars with us, and the staff made parking completely hassle-free, which was a huge plus.
Don’t miss this place, great price, great location, and an all-around fantastic experience!
A special shoutout to Tulsi and Gunpal for being incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay….truly lovely people.
The only downside was the foul smell from the bathroom and the AC.
This is a beautifully designed hotel with a great view on the back of the palace and a rooftop terrace. It's quiet, with spacious rooms and great bathrooms (massive walk-in showers). Beds were comfortable, check-in staff very helpful, swimming pool is clean and refreshing. Lunch / dinner options are very tasty, 99% North Indian. Bar offers a good selection of drinks.
Restaurant staff are friendly but largely disorganised and invisible. Egg options are available for breakfast upon request but they are not offered so if you don't ask, you don't know. When you need more tea or coffee there's no staff to ask anywhere to ask. Breakfast choice is very limited (mainly Indian but when food runs out it's not immediately replaced).
Very good breakfast extremely good staff always happy to help , hotel is clean and in a fabulous environment
Great staff, friendly, helpful. Located a close walking distance from the City Palace. Room is beautifully decorated and clean. Plenty of nooks / places to hang out and relax outside of the room. We end up eating multiple meals in the restaurant and we were not disappointed.
There are a flight of stairs (no lift) one must climb up before reaching the property/lobby. Somehow we were not aware of this and it is slightly challenging for our 75-year old mum who has a bad knee. Otherwise, all is well
The hotel was beautiful. I loved the stairs leading to the lobby with beautiful trees. Such a stunning haveli with a beautiful renovation. I enjoy small boutique hotels with a personal touch.
Amazing location and wonderful staff
