When choosing a nonrefundable rate the total amount of the stay will be charged upon booking. Should you wish the invoice to be issued with different information (such as company name), please contact the hotel or insert your request in the Special Requests box. After payment is received, the invoice cannot be modified.
Please note for nonrefundable rates the pre-payment invoice will be issued under the name on the reservation, in case you need the invoice with a VAT number or with different details please insert that information on the reservation. After the invoice is issued no changes will be made.
We would like to inform you that between the 3rd of March until the 15th of May 2026, we will be carrying out a full redecoration of our Spa located at floor -2. During this period, all spa services will be allocated in a different area of the hotel, thus ensuring full continuity of facilities and services to our guests, namely: heated swimming jacuzzi, sauna, massages and beauty treatments.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.

Comfortable beds
A 3 star hotel telling people it’s a 5 star
The room was wonderful, the roof bar beutifull,
Breakfast was great
The roof sauna, pool and hot tub, were well advertised and affected our desision,
The hot tub was cold, the pool was closed, the sauna shuts off early,
So we did not get to use any of those.

The location was good in the old town. The room was large and had a nice bath. The breakfast was excellent.
The spa was closed for our whole stay. The rooftop pool and jacuzzi were not heated as advertised so it was alot of money given these facilities were not usable. The staff did not seem to care. They could have offered a discount in the bar or something.
Location, amenities (bar, pool, sauna), maid service was great, breakfast was awesome.
Front desk/concierge was just OK. Not very friendly or helpful.

Favorite hotel from our trip.
The staff is a bit "stiff", it is a does not feel very "personal". e.g at breakfast they point you towards a table (why can't I chose myself???) and then insist on explaining you how the buffet works (an explanation which is limited to telling you where to find the hot and cold buffet = no added value).
The walk from the parking to the lobby is a bit weird and feels unfinished.

Nothing
The hotel has a spa-like interior design - dark, moody and tranquil. Though it sits directly within a shopping centre, noise was never an issue. A refillable bottle and water stations are available so you can keep hydrated. Location is definitely a huge plus, within close walking distance of the marina and main hub of Funchal. This also means you have a host of amenities on your doorstep: ATM machines by entrance, a supermarket on a lower floor, and a variety of restaurants just outside. Most hotels are actually positioned much further west upon a steep uphill incline so very glad I booked here. Pillows were excellent and I don't say that lightly as most hotels fall short on this front. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in. Shower had fantastic water pressure. Turn down service is provided too which was a nice touch. Staff were all very professional and courteous.
On arrival, I immediately noticed a design flaw. Small pebbled floor is used by the entrance, in reception and the bathrooms. It's a very impractical choice for most guests who arrive with suitcases. When you shower, water gets on the pebbled flooring and doesn't tend to dry as well. I'm not a huge fan of an open plan bathroom but I was aware of that when I booked. A kettle is provided but any use of teabags or coffee is charged at 5 euros to replace which is quite disappointing for a 5 star establishment.
The hotel is really clean and comfortable. The room was very good. Thestaff was amazing and very helpful.

Checking-in experience was not very friendly; we were too early but no attempt was made to accommodate us at least a bit earlier than the formal check-in time which would have been very desirable given the weather.
Quality of coffee at breakfast was rather poor for a 5 star hotel (no beans?).
