Hotel y Glamping Azul María Bacalar

La publicidad decía que tenían acceso a un club de playa y por esta época no se si anteriormente pero no había esa posibilidad.
No me hicieron limpieza de la habitación hasta que lo solicite pero solo sacaron la basura, tendieron las camas pero sin cambian sabanas y nunca me cambiaron las toallas usamos las mismas los 5 días de estancia y la limpieza que solicite solo la realizaron un día y porque lo solicite, se me acabó el papel de baño y también tuve que pedirlo.

Det finns en liten fara för barn om de fastnar under poolsplattformen. Annars var det ganska bra.

Sólo porque fue en una cabañita porque no encontré espacio de otras habitaciones, por el tema del baño. Me queda un poco retirado. Pero no es problema. La pasé increíble

The room is not very big, and the bathroom is not very nice. You require a car to move around. The breakfast is bad.

The breakfast is definitely a super big point for improvement. I understand that they do not have a kitchen, but I think with some effort they can still offer the same but a little better. For example, the bread from a local bakery instead of a packaged one. A coffee machine would definitely improve the breakfast as well.
They need to be more careful with the cleaning of the common bathrooms and areas.
They should definitely take out the description of having access to the lagoon. The lagoon club is not well maintained and they basically only offer water and soda. The people who work there are friendly but not very helpful. It was quite difficult to get coffee or something from the restaurant to the lagoon club, so we just left after 5 minutes. Basically we just lost a couple of hours to go there and check it out.

There is no private beach at all! It's the reason why we chose this hotel, for its supposed private access to the lake, but they just have a partnership with some random place 10 min away by taxi that you can access. There, it's possible to rent kayaks for very cheap, but that's it, no food or drink available, no facilities.. very disappointing.

We booked two rooms (4 adults in total) for 2 nights. The bedrooms and common areas would greatly benefit from better cleaning and maintenance. In one of the rooms we even found the plenty of dead insects and lizards! There was no hot water and the rooms were incredibly humid. Breakfast was quite shameful and the second day it was not available at 8 am as stated. We had to ask for everything (towels, toilet paper, soap…)… hairdryer not available. Definitely overpriced for the quality of the premises. Also quite surprising that the staff only spoke Spanish despite being located in a highly touristic area.

The washroom is dirty and the swimming pool is dirty. I expect its beside the beach but it was not.

Breakfast can be easily improved

Hotel had some electricity issues due to massive rains with the air conditioning and water pump going off (neither toilet working nor any running water). This was fixed by the staff within same day.
Also, some water was leaking through bathroom window and balkony door.

The hotel is rather away from the center and has limited choices for food in the vicinity, but was not a big issue since we had a car.

Our door was a heavy and hard to slide. Other than that it was great.

It took us some time to find the hot water switch (outside the place) so we had a few cold showers. There was enough parking for one car only (however street parking is available a few meters away). I didn't realise the bathroom sink is inside the bedroom. It's too far from the main area of restaurants and cafes. You'll need a bicycle or a car.

it was a little trouble when paying and the room was not cleaned the second night, not sure if is a normal practice.

They had a few problems with all the water, but they fixed it right away.
