Good value hotel at end of hard day's walking
Pros:

This was a stop on our coast to coast walk at the end of a very hard day of walking. We were very grateful to arrive. The staff were very welcoming and the room had recently been decorated. The beds were a bit soft but the shower was fine. The hotel was good value given there was not a lot of other options

Cons:

The breakfast was a bit uninspiring with milky scrambled eggs and very sweet bread

Cons:

Frühstück wird erst ab 8:00 Uhr serviert. Bei früherer Abreise gibt es nichts bzw. kann man gegen Entgeld ein Lunchpaket erhalten. Um zum Bahnhof zu gelangen braucht man ein Taxi, um das man sich selbst kümmern muss (Was nicht ganz einfach war.) Das Personal gibt einem nur eine Liste mit Telefonnummern. Personal könnte engagierter und freundlicher sein.

Local pub with rooms. Great for C2C walkers.
Pros:

Lovely staff and the food was good.
Not the most modern pub but ticked all the necessary boxes.
Beth was super !

Cons:

A bit dated but we enjoyed our stay.
A boot room would have been useful but we did hire boot dryers which was fab.

Comfortable room and good location for c2c walk
Pros:

Staff friendly. Comfortable room.

Cons:

Better toiletries after a long day walking. Only a small sachet of shower gel not really good enough.
Lots of flies at breakfast which could have been rectified with some fly spray!

Least enjoyable stay
Pros:

The location was ideal, staff were lovely just a shame they were unable to meet our expectations regarding the heating and c2c stamp.

Cons:

We turned up drenched from a long tough walk in horrendous weather, asked several times for the heating to be put on in our room but it never happened. Leaving us cold and wet setting off the next day too.

Excellent and the added bonus of the start for the following day being directly opposite
Pros:

Staff were incredibly friendly and although we were late arriving the chef still prepared food for us. Very welcome after 16 miles. The dog even got a sausage treat for breakfast.

Pros:

Large family room but no ensuite but a separate bathroom which was absolutely fine.

Cons:

Poor breakfast. Cooked food only - no fruit so I ate my apple from the packed lunch of the day before.

We had a very enjoyable stay, the pub atmosphere was a lot of fun.
Pros:

Friendly and helpful staff and owners made you feel at home.
A welcome bath after a long day walking the Coast to Coast path.

Pros:

Great location for Coast to Coast trekkers. Staff were friendly. Rooms were friendly and inviting. Meals were great and we got packed lunches for our Coast.

Cons:

Value was money is not great - we found it expensive. No towel drying rack unfortunately.
