A comfortable stay in a good location
Pros:

My room was clean and well presented. The bed was comfortable.

Cons:

Unfortunately the kitchen was being refurbished so there was no breakfast or evening meal available.. I was alerted to this on booking but it was unfortunate anthers were few alternatives in the village.

Overall good. We stopover in this area a lot on N/S journeys and will definitely add the hotel to our list
Pros:

Very clean good sized room, excellent solo barstaff

Cons:

Room could fit and really benefit from two small armchairs and/or small table and two chairs. People like to watch TV from a chair not perched on the bed.

A great disappointment and we will not be staying there again.
Pros:

The location was good.

Cons:

No food was available for dinner or breakfast despite our special request for dinner.
The room was very cold and the staff were not very welcoming or helpful.

A good place to stopover.
Pros:

The welcome was friendly and the staff were very pleasant. The location, being just off the M6 and close to the Lakes is very good and the setting in the village is good. The evening meal and breakfast were good.

Cons:

Our visit coincided with a charity "race" night which we were aware of when we were booked. The pub was busy during the evening, as expected, but there was a resurgence of activity later in night which was unwelcome.

Friendly and welcoming, with good food.
Pros:

The staff were so very friendly, from the man who checked me, in to the woman who served breakfast. The room was clean and well attended. The dogs were made very welcome. The meals were good and the dinning room was pleasant. I would stay here again if I’m ever in the area.
