Nice and cozy
It wasn’t the place - I had a roommate who use 10X too much cologne.😵💫
My sinuses are irritated.
There was a lot more space in the room than I expected.
The water in the shower would NOT get hot.
The room and the house in general was very clean and has all necessary amenities. The house is very close to the bus stop and a few stops from downtown. The host responded to my messages immediately and even came to help me open the door! I felt I had the privacy I needed although others were in other rooms. Highly recommend this place!
The air conditioner nob was broken and kept falling down. I wish I had the option to open the windows to let some fresh air in. Some inhabitants didn't leave the bathroom or kitchen completely clean after use, but that has nothing to do with the house. It's just the minuses of sharing space with other people.
Booking messaging system was not working properly. So I didn't receive the information from the owner of the house so I waited 2 hours to be able to get in the house and it was other people who had rented another room who gave me the code to get in the house and the key to get in the room. Since Booking messaging system wasn't working, I never received the information for the WiFi either.
The location was perfect-it was a fairly quiet neighborhood. I was able to walk to varies parks and stores. Hostess was very helpful.
Communication with the owner was easy, she was clearly working on the property.
This place is one step above a halfway house. Two long-term renters are there. One of whom moved between rooms and left a mess in the bathroom several days in a row. The other cornered me and told me every bad thing about the other roommate and the neighborhood. The room was less than desirable. The bed itself is broken and kept together with duct tape. The sheets were old and raggedy and the mattress had a huge stain on it, as did the pillows. The floor was disgusting - at one point I had to clean up a stain that was near the bed because it looked like a mix of blood and ketchup. There was a computer chair that smelled so bad I ended up putting it in the closet and leaving it there. I brought my own lamp because the lighting was so bad I could hardly see, even with the tiny lamp that was provided.
The pictures of the room are NOT what the room looks like. There is a large mini-fridge in there and the bed is not the same.
Not to mention, it gets HOT. They keep the AC at 76 degrees. At one point, the owner went away for a week and left the cleaning and other duties to the older woman who lived there. She was complaining to me daily. I asked her if we could turn the AC down because I was literally sweating at night and she said, "Sleep naked."
The first night I stayed, I went out for dinner and when I returned the door was locked in a way I couldn't get in. Another guest opened the door and stared at me like an alien. I said 'hi' and she got indignant, she thought she had rented the entire place for some reason. The check-in process is not clear.
This place is really only suitable for a solo traveler who can deal with the facilities or someone who is staying for just a night and needs a place to crash. The so-called "Cozy Room" needs serious improvement and should not be rented until huge changes are made.
It had everything I needed.
Host was prompt in reply and ready to help if needed. Room was spatious, clean with good furtniture, decoration, kitchen, and essential items needed with clean bathroom.
Overall, I liked the room and it was really good value of money.
I felt a bit warm and I did not have control to teh AC.
The location is relatively close (driving distance from the downtown). However, walking outside in the street and nearby recreational park felt a bit unsecured as the nearest park I went seems people taking drug probably. If you stay insdie, then it is great.
