Any cancelation 60 days (90 days in peak season) or more prior to arrival will be accepted and a full refund of all deposits less US$100 handling fee will be processed. Any cancelation within 60 days and 45 days (90 days and 60 days in peak season) prior to arrival will result in forfeit of deposit or 50% of total booking. Any cancelation within 45 days (60 days in peak season) of guest arrival will be subject to no refund whatsoever.
No refunds offered within the cancelation periods for reasons including airlines delays, strikes, political unrest, weather conditions, travel advisories, acts of God, hurricanes or personal emergencies. To safeguard against such unforeseen problems we strongly recommend travel insurance. We will however, depending on circumstances and season try to work with you to reschedule dates if permitted.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. Portofino is a lovely property with just right amount of cabanas to make you truly feel like a guest instead of ‘one of many.’ The resort is attractive, comfortable, and sits right in the beachside. The staff is helpful, friendly and accommodating. Lunch was my favorite meal out under the sea grape tree with the grackles and iguanas. We tended to linger there way beyond the fish and chips, watching the wildlife and listening to the surf break out in the reef. Who knows about night, we crashed early and slept like babies. A welcome and much needed sleep.
There’s a lot of construction going on on Ambergris Cay and the sound of dump trucks early in the morning was well, too much like reality. One day it will be finished and the sound of the pounding surf will rightfully win in the music of the breaking day again.

Loved the location and the pool and the beach area. Staff was nice and helpful. Lots of good amenities. Food was really good also.
Bed was not in the greatest shape. They allowed other people from rental properties next door to use the pool. A bunch of kids took up the space so we couldn’t enjoy our own pool at the resort.
The staff here was amazing. They were kind and attentive. The cabana we stayed in was clean and comfortable. We ate the food here every day and everything was delicious.I would recommend this place if you are visiting San Pedro.
We liked it all!!! Beautiful resort with an exceptional staff. We've traveled a lot and I don't think I remember anyplace providing such personal and warm welcome-to-departure service. Food great also! Thank you!!
My only suggestion to future guests is to consider booking a unit that does not have a unit above it. The wooden structure, I guess, results in the amplification of ordinary sounds like chairs moved, etc.
Beautiful , clean
Wifi was awful, beach was not as expected as it had a lot of sea weed and was not swimmable. Not a problem just wasn’t expected.
Very clean and such nice friendly staff who were very organized and professional. Amazing views with nice sunrises.
The road to get to Portofino was a bit rough.
I love the beautiful grounds. Fantastic pool, beach, restaurant and bar and staff was super friendly. The room was quaint and had everything I needed.
The hairdryer didn't work but not a big deal.
The property is beautiful and well laid out. All amenities are close together but not cramped.
The restaurant is one of the best in the area, the staff and management were wonderful. Accommodations are very comfortable with amazing views. The toiletries hand crafter and beautiful quality.
There was nothing we didn’t like, however for others it is a bit of a golf cart away from the city of San Pedro but it is closer to Secret Beach

All of the staff were so helpful and kind. We loved the location. The food was amazing.
Really, the only thing that could have been better was the lighting in our cabana. It was a bit dim at night.
Portofino is a lovely little resort a bit away from the main town on San Pedro. The rooms are spacious and luxurious. The view out onto the beach was glorious, and the pool is also a lovely place to relax. The free breakfast was also plenty to keep us full - would highly recommend the banana muffins!
We had mixed customer service with staff, some of whom were amazing but others were not as helpful or enthusiastic when liaising with us. We also would warn people against borrowing bikes from this hotel - mine broke down multiple times and my husband got covered in oil trying to fix to get us back. We were also expecting the bar to be open much later given the signage but often found it closed
Staffs here treat you like a family, we were sad leaving at the end of our stays. The property is very clean, secluded, you feel like on a private island. Very quiet and private, it gave the true serenity we were seeking. Cabanas are roomy, ours had two queen beds with rooms to move around. We truly enjoyed the facility, the food was the best on the island.
