A truly wonderful hotel in the heart of historic Istanbul!
AJWA Sultanahmet left us with the warmest and most unforgettable impressions. The location is simply perfect: all the main attractions are nearby, while the hotel itself feels like a separate world of calm, beauty, and oriental elegance.
The interior deserves special praise — historic, luxurious, atmospheric, and full of beautiful details. The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and professional. From the very first moment, we felt genuinely welcome.
The breakfasts were absolutely fantastic: everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully served. And six kinds of freshly squeezed juices — simply amazing!
A very special thanks and respect to the wonderful Mari for organizing an excellent Bosphorus tour for us. Everything was arranged perfectly, with care and great taste. Thanks to her, our stay became even more memorable.

Lovely stay! From the entrance to the interior decor, everything was absolutely stunning and very cozy. The location is a solid 10/10, couldn’t have been better. There are so many historic attractions nearby, along with little shops, supermarkets, the bazaar, and lovely restaurants all within walking distance.
The only minor improvement would be the breakfast service, which could be a bit more refined, labeling the food correctly.
Other than that, a huge compliment to the reception and concierge team for their kind and warm service.
Verdict: this is a very high-class, emotional, Ottoman-style luxury hotel in the heart of old Istanbul. Not a modern “glass luxury” hotel — it is more like a private Ottoman mansion/palace with Islamic/halal positioning, art, marble, mother-of-pearl furniture, carpets, and historical atmosphere. Tripadvisor describes it as “more than a mere five-star hotel” with a private-mansion feeling and halal hospitality.
The location is excellent: AJWA Sultanahmet is at Piyerloti Caddesi No:30, Sultanahmet, close to the core historical district of Istanbul.
The hotel offers a spa, indoor pool, steam room and hammam-style wellness facilities, which is important after walking all day in Istanbul.
The design is the main reason it feels special: Ottoman splendor, handcrafted furniture, Persian rugs, marble work, painted ceilings and a very rich traditional aesthetic. Preferred Hotels describes it as a five-star hotel in the heart of Old Istanbul with Ottoman-style luxury and views toward the Sea of Marmara from Zeferan Restaurant.
Recent review signals are also strong: Expedia shows it as “Exceptional” with hundreds of reviews and highlights the hammam spa, indoor pool, rooftop restaurant, Bosphorus/Old City access, and highly personal service. .
My final “100-star” feeling
For Sultanahmet, history, romance, Islamic/Ottoman luxury, family stay, quiet elegance — I would give it:
Not the best choice if you want modern nightlife, Bosphorus resort energy, or ultra-contemporary luxury. But for old Istanbul soul — AJWA is one of the most beautiful choices.

Helpful and I would say the entire hotel staff were extremely service oriented. It was a very luxurious day and every person we interacted with demonstrated the highest level of courtesy.

Our hotel room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel is a good location in terms of proximity to the old city, breakfast spread is large and the restaurant has a fantastic view.
I wish the dinner and breakfast menus had vegan (dairy/egg/meat free) options.
The Gym hours vary by gender and the specified times for women are difficult. There are some brief hours in the early morning and then some hours after 3 PM but it would make it difficult to sight see in the middle of the day and the hours overlap with peak meal times. To be equitable, I think there needs to be something later in the morning, available for women.

Klein Zimmer in Familiensuite hat gar kein Fenster. Dadurch war es dunkel. Einzige Fenster ist zu klein für Suite.
Es fällt Information, dass Pool nur zu bestimmten Zeiten (für Frauen nachmittag und Männer vormittag) und nur getrennt genutzt werden darf.
Die Lage war zwar zentral, aber nicht besonders schön.
Отличное расположение — многие достопримечательности находятся в пешей доступности. Очень понравились завтраки с красивым видом на воду. Выбор блюд хороший, есть всё необходимое, а также можно заказать дополнительные блюда из меню. Отдельно хочется отметить персонал: сотрудники очень внимательные и искренне заботятся о гостях. Каждый день на ресепшене интересовались, всё ли у нас хорошо, нужна ли уборка или какая-либо помощь. Особенно приятно, что сотрудник быстро запомнил номер нашей комнаты и всегда обращался к нам очень внимательно. В номере идеальная чистота и внимание к деталям: каждое полотенце было аккуратно упаковано в отдельный чехол, все вещи размещены на своих местах, даже увеличительное зеркало было защищено чехлом. Также порадовала ванная комната — отличный напор воды и стабильная температура.
Единственное небольшое пожелание — наличие совместной зоны хамама для пар. Однако понимаем, что раздельное посещение является частью местных традиций и культурных особенностей.

Sem reclamações, foram todos ótimos. O transporte na regiao é caótico, apesar de haver taxis, vans, uber sempre a disposição; só o tráfego que é ruim mesmo porém se o objetivo é visitar os principais pontos turisticos é excelente, da pra fazer tudo a pé. Recomendo o uso do Tram para ir ao Galata port que quando nao ha navios atracados vira uma atração à parte.

Kaldığımız white house çok konforluydu bi grup arkadaş olarak. Dekorasyon çok güzeldi, evde ihtiyacımız olandan fazlasıyla her şey mevcuttu. Hizmet çok kaliteli ve hızlıydı, çalışanlar çok güler yüzlü ve yardım severlerdi. Harika bir kahvaltı seçenekleri vardı. Çok güzel manzara eşliğinde keyifle yaptık. Konum olarak harika, ulaşımı çok kolay. Herkese tavsiye ederim.
Location is excellent. Rooms were very comfortable. Buffet breakfast was very good as well. Staff were all very guest focused and helpful.
Lighting the bathroom wasn’t bright enough for me and the hot water in the bathroom sink wasn’t hot and yet the shower was just fine.

Meu cartao foi cobrado integralmente a estadia semanas antes do check in e ao falar com hotel ainda fui informada que a tarifa era nao reembolsavel e tenho a confirmacao do booking que seria cobrada no ckeck in e era reembolsavel. Ainda bem que nao tive que cancelar. Cuidem ao fazer a reserva. Cuidado com alguns quartos, o meu tinha banheira e meu marido idoso teve dificuldade p entrar.
