loved Hakuna Matata Resort!!
Pros:

The Hakuna Matata Resort was a fantastic place to stay, Nora and her staff could not do enough for you, the rooms were very clean and had everything you need, also great laundry service, best I've had in 8 weeks traveling SE Asia, the hotel is right on a beautiful beach and a great location on Gili Air Island.
Book this hotel and you will have no regrets..

-Le rapport qualité prix car peu cher
- le gentillesse de Nora qui m’a enlevé les épines d’oursins dans mon pied !

Cons:

- chambre très sombre

Les activités extérieures commandé à l’hôtel
- première activité : snorkling . Temps non respecté , et surtout la personne qui l’a accompagné a touché une tortue pour la faire remonter à la surface ce qu’il ne fait absolument pas faire !
- deuxième activité : balade à cheval , ridicule ! Tenu en laisse par un indonésien qui ne parlait pas un mot de français , et le cheval tellement fatigué qu’il n’a pas réussi à me rammene à l’hôtel …ou comment être la risée de tout le monde ..

- troisième activité : je commande une sortie en mer avce un pêcheur à 6h AM pour pêcheur et voir le lever de soleil , je me lève à 5h30 , personne ne c’est jamais présenté !!!!

Résultat , matinée perdu !

Chek out désastreux , pas de coordination entre le personnel ,

Il y aurait encore beaucoup à dire !!!

Pros:

Really nice place right on the beach. Lovely rooms and pool. Staff were great and really helpful. The bar and restaurant were very nice but specialised in sushi which we didn’t fancy so didn’t eat there apart from brekkie which was really nice. Would recommend!

Our favourite stay on Gili Air
Pros:

We had an overall very pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was lovely: spacious, comfortable, and well presented. The staff were warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming throughout of our stay. The beachfront location is a real highlight, offering beautiful surroundings and easy access to the beach. The on-site restaurant was also excellent, with high-quality food that we thoroughly enjoyed - we hugely recommend the sushi!

Cons:

There were a couple of drawbacks worth mentioning. The WiFi was unfortunately very unreliable, which made it difficult to stay connected. Additionally, we experienced a long wait of around 45 minutes at check-in without any acknowledgement or update, which was disappointing after a long journey.

Despite these issues, the hotel has many strong points and with a few improvements could be an even better experience.

Hakuna Matata Resort—just like its name says: no worries, no problems. And yes, the name is 100% accurate and well-earne
Pros:

The hotel was really good. The staff—especially Noor and the head of engineering—were incredibly helpful. When I arrived, I was really tired. Noor was at the reception and immediately noticed. She brought me a cold towel and a lovely welcome drink, which instantly refreshed me.

She then gave me a really good bungalow—super comfortable. I think she even upgraded it. That’s a great way to treat a tired customer.

While I was resting inside the bungalow, there was an issue with the AC. The team responded immediately by sending the head engineer, who quickly resolved the problem by providing another room right away. That’s how things work there—quick, efficient, and thoughtful.

I had also forgotten my charger, but Noor managed to get it sent on the next boat. I received it just an hour after arriving at Bali port. That kind of quick and caring service really stood out.

Overall, it was a lovely experience, especially the way they handled everything so smoothly. The hotel offers great value—amazing staff, excellent food, and top-notch service. A solid 10 out of 10. I highly recommend this hotel.
