You cannot beat the convenience and charm of the historic cottages at Mammoth Cave.
Pros:

I like that the rooms were historic and preserved. I also liked that they were detached cottages away from the other accommodations and main building. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant and its staff were great! We thoroughly enjoyed eatting meals there!

Cons:

The A/C unit was quite noisey when it turned on. Also, and I realize this was not within your control, the parking lot construction was a little inconvenient for getting to the room.
