Nice low budget option if you can slerp with earplugs
Pros:

I have probably stayed here ten times as a budget conscious parent of a berkeley kid. I like the large beds and the proximity of a casual breakfast restaurant next door. It's also close to berkeley and El Cerrito BART.

Cons:

The altered conscuousness crowd hanging around in the parking lot and unmodulated voices at all hours. I think I would probably get as much sleep if I slept in my car in a safe neighborhood. I was awakened several times by the pothead's having loud conversations basically two feet from the doors and or loudly expectering, basically in front of my door from 3-7am, hours when I have always tried to be quiet in consideration of the needs of others. One of the rooms had some mold in the bathroom, but for the most part, they were fine. TV worked whenever I tried it, but I didn't try it in all of the rooms. The little refrigerators were set to very cold settings and froze fresh food. The staff was as helpful as they could be given a challenged IT system. I think the place is fine and my beef is with the lack of self-awareness and personal accountability of the local population that interferes with my ability to sleep from 11pm to 7am. I will probably trade comfort for a lower density environment and sleep in my car if I can.

Great location, convenient to where I needed to go, but the cigarette smell was awful!!!
Pros:

Location and free parking were perfect. I was close to where I needed to be and was picked up/dropped off by my uber drivers with no problem. Check in went smoothly as well.

Cons:

I was under the impression California had a 100% no-smoking hotel room law, but this room made me question that assumption. The room smelled as if someone smoked daily for the previous 20 years before I entered the room. I had a tough time sleeping because I honestly couldn't breathe.

No stay!
Pros:

I have stayed at this place before. Old motel, (affordable) great location, decent beds, running warm water, micro and fridge. The place is quite run down, works to stay for a few nights.

Cons:

Recently, I was scheduled to stay for one night with prior reservation through Booking. When arriving late evening, I was offered the only available room on the premises, a smoking room!!! I can absolutely not stay in a smoking room! No other options available! Needless to say, I was left without a room at 9 pm. I question why a hotel in California still offer smoking options! Since 2024 smoking is banned in hotel/motel guest rooms and public places!

Not good at all I was harassed all night by the night shift worker saying that he was getting complaints and I never got
Pros:

The property was good Jose Maria Caleb there’s one staff member at night time he’s Indian. He’s very disrespectful. He’s unprofessional and he would make this business go out of business based upon his customer service.

10:29pm 2/13/26 night shift staff is very disrespectful. He’s rude. He’s unprofessional. His customer service is not good at all. He always has an attitude. He always gets angry. He has no patience. He’s just very disrespectful and he shouldn’t work here. He’s gonna make your business go out of business.

Enjoy my room and would rebook this hotel.
Pros:

The room was the size of a studio apartment with lots of space and lighting. My room was towards the top section and had less street noise from below. Safety card entry system, lots of free parking and public transportation. Freeway close by and general services within walking distances. Liked have a tub and shower at my fingertips. Good for families and onsite laundromat. Staff friendly and professional.

Cons:

The carpet could have extra padding to reduce the neighbors beneath my room and side rooms.
