Hotel El Capitan Tulum

Estuvimos hospedados 1 noche porque solo íbamos de paso, es un hotel sencillo, para solo ir a dormir está bien. El personal es amable.

Muy buenas atenciones, el hotel es un poco antiguo, pero se sintió como bien. El restaurante muy bueno, la comida excelente.

We stayed here a number of years ago and enjoyed it. Since we were familiar with the location , we booked it again. The hotel could use some upgrades now, but was still a good place to stay.

Hard beds and got disturbed by loud music all night. Just got quiet early in the morning. Ordered breakfast and took almost an hour to be served. Restaurant is nice and food is really tasty genuine Mexican dishes.

O hotel não tem recepção. O check-in é feito no restaurante do hotel que tem o mesmo nome do hotel. Lugar ok para pernoitar. Atendimento gentil e café da manhã excelente.

Trato malo, alberca sucia, aire acondicionado funcionaba de a ratos, desayuno malo, la TV de cuarto sin operar.

Habitación limpia y excelente relación precio / calidad. El desayuno incluido es muy bueno. Olor a drenaje en el baño. La recepción no tenía personal, había que acceder por la oficinita del restaurante lo cual fue un poco raro

Good value for price,basic and a little outdated but staff was extremely nice and accommodating.
About 20 min walk from main bus station ,10 min bike ride to the ruins and 15 min bike ride to the beach.
The free breakfast was great,large portions and delicous.
The area around the hotel is safe and clean.
Close to the center but quiet.

I made this reservation to visit our local family, expecting to have a great experience, but this was ruined by staying at this place - EL CAPITAN. Upon checking in, the owner saw my family that lives in the area and approached us aggressively looking down on my family. We told her we had a reservation, and she sent us to the check in desk.

After checking in, we felt being watched, this lady was following us and when we went to the pool she discriminated against us because my 60yr old mom did not have swimming suit and got into the pool with regular shorts and shirt, the owner said that my mom's clothes will damage the moldy pool. (I have pictures of the moldy pool of concern). This behavior was only done to us, the owner acted very politely with other guests that were tourists. During our stay we were treated differently for being locals while tourists were treated better, me and my wife were treated really nice while my local family were looked down on, extremely unacceptable.

I would definitely not recommend this place. The owner should learn some manners and treat people better.
