Very good cooked breakfast.
Nothing
No one around on arrival. Strong smell of urine. Didn’t end up staying.
Very warmly welcomed by Graeme who was very friendly and accommodating.
Both the drying room and sauna very were much appreciated.
There was no evening food or hot cooked breakfast available. It’s clear that this has been the case for a while.
Did not anything at all as I did not stop.when I went there the place was closed.i spoke to the owner and he admitted it was closed down a week or two back.could not sell food as did not have a licence.
Surely booking dot com should of known this.or make a point of checking before taking bookings.very disappointed.
Nichts
Besitzer war besoffen und hat nicht geöffnet. Mussten ein anderes hotel suchen
Friendly and lovely owners
All grand...
I stayed at Ben View Hotel for two nights during my motorcycle tour through Scotland, and it was honestly one of the highlights of my trip.
Graham and his team are incredibly welcoming, friendly, and genuinely passionate about making guests feel at home. From the very first moment, I felt warmly welcomed and well looked after. The atmosphere in the hotel is relaxed, authentic, and perfect for travelers exploring Scotland by motorcycle.
The food was absolutely excellent. The dinner was exceptionally delicious, freshly prepared, and full of flavor — exactly what I needed after a long day riding. The breakfast was just as good: hearty, fresh, and the perfect start to another day on the road.
Graham is a fantastic host with a great sense of humor, and you will definitely enjoy spending time there and chatting with him. His hospitality really makes this place special.
I would absolutely stay here again and can highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through Scotland, especially fellow motorcyclists.
Thank you again for the wonderful stay — hopefully see you again soon!
Good place to stay as a stopover to Isle of Mull. Bit isolated, but some lovely walks in the area, and a couple of local places to eat out. Host, Graeme, was very friendly and welcoming.
We couldn't get our hot water to work in the shower?
There was no one to let us in . Had been sent a very poorly written notification saying our booking was cancelled. Hotel looked very shabby & abandoned
Ww we're booked in for 2 nights.
On the way to the hotel we got an email at 6pm to say that the owner had "taken ill" (Drunk) and the hotel was closed and all bookings are cancelled.
We were left with no accommodation with everywhere else fully booked. We had to cut our Scottish trip short by 2 days which we had planned and prepared for the last year and drive over 4 hours back to the ferry port to sleep on the ground in the rain (as we were on motorcycles) to catch the first sailing the next morning.
TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!
ABSOLUTE DISGRACE OF A HOTEL!!
Should be removed from all booking sites immediately.
I should have payed more attention to previous reviews as it looks like this has happened a number of times in the recent past.
J'ai eu du mal à quitter cet établissement tant j'y étais bien.
Les midges, mais l'établissement n'y est pour rien ! 😁
The location and the staff
A bit dated but it worked for what we needed
Awful absolute awful scenario the owner was intoxicated the hotel was shut and the place absolutely stunk, shame on booking.com for still acting as a broker for this place
