Everything was perfect. So clean and well presented and wonderful staff. Amazing hotel, super comfortable and delicious food, i hope to return again soon
Nothing
Great location in Derbyshire. Friendly welcome. Very comfortable room. Bathroom could have been bigger. Good toiletries. Cosy public areas. Good bar. Excellent bed, linen, pillows. Excellent dinner. Excellent breakfast.
Nothing whatsoever to dislike.
Didn't like my bathroom very small and burnt my bottom on the bathroom radiator.
I hate showers over baths very old fashioned rip out bath put in a walk in shower.
The food was exceptional, the room beautiful and comfortable, and the hotel lovely.
The bath took a long time to run as the tap was so slow
Everything was lovely, the breakfast, delicious
We would have preferred an evening menu with more choice and not a very expensive tasting menu. It was just too much and some of the courses wouldn’t have been our choice.
The room was very nice and the staffs are friendly
The property was lovely. Rooms were beautiful with everything you need - Restaurant and bar were both fantastic
Everything great
No improvement needed
Staff excellent, lovely outside area for pre-dinner drinks
Excellent location to visit Bakewell, Matlock & Chatsworth estate
excellent breakfast
Fabulous location , food excellent , the staff tried to be (and were lovely) . It was good that you could have porrige ! . liked all the usual ameneties towels etc. Decor looked new and clean . Chocolates (not buiscuits on arrival )
sorry guys I actually like buiscuits , the tea pot did not accomodate the mugs provided . Very hot at night and Road noise if you opened a window .I know, all small things , but I concidered the room pricey and it was our 45 anniversary .
The kitchen had malfunction if you wanted to vary the food menu (ie. no sugary bits ) but did try to accomodate . LOVE the mouseman tables . but miss the awsome Decor of previous owners and the missing lights in the diner. Hey Ho !
The hotel was lovely & the surroundings were very picturesque! The lounge area was very relaxing to sit and read the paper.
The tables were too close together in the breakfast room, as we could hear everyone’s conversations & didn’t find it very relaxing. We asked Valentine if we could sit in next room but we were told no. For paying so much per night our request should have been accommodated.
Some of the breakfast items could be improved like porridge, toasted muffin (which was not toasted & tasted quite soggy).
Breakfast was ok
Small portions, waitress was very nice but got orders mixed up
Bigger bathrooms
