Immaculate is the word to describe JW Marriot Nara. The service was immaculate. The rooms were immaculate. Beds were super comfortable and we had to struggle to get out of bed every morning. *laughs* The staff were amazing and attentive.
Restaurant quality was mediocre although the service was amazing. Thankfully Nara has its offerings of top notch dining alternatives so we were covered. (Highly recommend Wayamakura, kaiseki restaurant). The location was a way off the popular locations and for the first two nights, we were awakened by unruly bikers which was quite irritating.

Great rooms with confortable spaces.
Rather far from the center but well connected with the shuttle and transport.
We were disappointed because only those over the age of 6 can use the pool contrary to what is stated in the facilities information that “all ages welcome” and the reason why we had chosen this hotel.
We recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and while our experience was overall very positive, we wanted to share some detailed feedback to help recognize the key contributors to your property’s success and suggest areas for improvement.
First and foremost, our dining experiences were absolutely exceptional. From breakfast to lunch and dinner at their private Teppanyaki room, every meal was a masterpiece, complemented by attentive and genuinely warm service. The restaurant staff set a gold standard, going above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. Their professionalism and friendliness truly stood out, and we cannot praise them highly enough.
Additionally, the bell service team, especially the three gentlemen from Nepal, were nothing short of outstanding. They exemplify what it means to deliver world-class hospitality. Their kindness, efficiency, and readiness to assist made us feel genuinely cared for. In fact, their impeccable service often compensated for areas where the front office fell short. Several fellow guests we spoke to while waiting for the shuttle bus also shared similar high praise for these individuals. They are truly the business card of this hotel and embody the very best of the JW Marriott brand.
We did face challenges with the operator and front office teams. Language barriers, particularly with the operator, made communication difficult at times. We felt the front office staff and the operator did not align with the otherwise very high standards of hospitality we experienced elsewhere in the hotel.
We share this feedback not to detract from the incredible work of the hotel exceptional team members but to encourage focus on an area that could be improved. A hotel’s success depends on the collective effort of all departments, and with some refinements in guest communication and front office, the overall guest experience could reach even greater heights.
