Fantastic shared space close to Elon, perfect for groups or families!
Pros:

Great location with large rooms and ensuite bathrooms. The shared spaces were very comfortable and well equipped, would definitely stay here again!

Pros:

Liked the atmosphere like being at home. Owner very kind and attentive when needed. Bedroom very neat and clean. Large bathroom with shower and round tub. Price very reasonable.

Beautiful place located on a noisy, fowl farm with a kind but often unavailable, unresponsive host
Pros:

Beautiful building, new looking, well decorated. Host Kevin seemed friendly and showed me three rooms, discussing with me what I was looking for, which was a quiet, clean place. He assured me that it was quiet and that it should meet my needs just fine.

Cons:

After making my non-refundable reservation, as I went out and got my bags, I saw/heard a rooster, so when I came back inside, I asked if he had a rooster, & he said, "yes, a lot of them!" So I discussed my concerns about potential noise, & he reassured me that I would not hear them in the morning until after 9 AM. It turned out that in addition to many roosters, they have many chickens, ginnie birds, & ducks. It's a farm, which he never mentioned prior to my booking. His grandmother lives there & cares for all the animals. It was too late to cancel so I checked in. Later I noticed that the roosters made a lot of noise throughout the day, so I went and bought foam mattress toppers so I could sleep in the huge, walk-in closet if the rooster was crowing the early morning. It began crowing at 5:30 AM, & continued, so at 6:10 I moved into the closet & tried to sleep there on the floor with earplugs in. Later the ginnie bird was standing under my window making a racket! I tried to get Kevin to go get it away from my room. He said, "Just a second." But after waiting for a few minutes when he didn't come down, I asked him again & he said he was in a meeting, so I told him I needed to speak with him urgently. He eventually came down, went outside and looked for the ginnie bird culprit, but while he was out there by the farm, the ginnie bird came back & continued making a racket under my window again. There were ginnie droppings in the sandy area where the bird apparently stands under my window regularly. I discussed these concerns with Kevin when he came back in & the fact that when I tried to reach him the previous late afternoon, he was not around & didn't return until very late at night, & he never responded to the message I left on the door cam. He said he turned off the door-cam messages, so he never got it.

Great night's sleep in a beautiful and clean home close to Elon's campus!
Pros:

The room was very clean and the bed and temperature were very comfortable. The common area was large and there was an assortment of snacks and drinks which was an extra welcoming touch. The common bathroom was also very clean. We got to meet other Elon parents during our stay which was very fun! It was easy to enter the home and find our room. While it was a shared experience, it had a more bed and breakfast feel than staying in a room in someone's house. I would definitely stay again!

Cons:

It would be good if there were a second bathroom somewhere in case the shared bathroom is taken. The pillows were also very high so other options would have been nice. That said, I still slept really well here. There was no interaction with the hosts which many people would probably like, but I would have liked to have met them.

Pros:

The hosts are always very accommodating with any requests and that the are so willing to share their amazing home is just phenomenal! We always enjoy staying here!!!

Cons:

I'm disabled and didn't ask this time for a ground floor room. I won't make that mistake again.
