Paradijs op Ometepe!
Pros:

Prachtige omgeving, letterlijk van de gebaande paden (+- 2 km offroad van de hoofdweg, goed te berijden met een normale auto). Prachtige aangelegde tuin, veel dieren (apen bij het ontbijt, enorme padden, vogels, vlinders), prive strand aan het meer, veel plekken om te relaxen. Keuze uit 7 verschillende ontbijtjes. We zijn 4 nachten verbleven. In één woord: fantastisch.

Cons:

Het waaide er ontzettend hard. Op het prive strand kon je hierdoor eigenlijk niet liggen. Bij het uitchecken wilde men opeens kosten in rekening brengen voor de huur van strandhanddoeken (70 cordoba per stuk). Bij het vooraf opvragen is hier niets over gezegd. We hoefden uiteindelijk ook niet te betalen.

Fantastic stay at Hotel San Juan Ometepe
Pros:

Stayed here for three nights during our honeymoon.

Room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with beautiful views across the lake. Howler monkeys in the trees above the cabin, and herons fishing on the water each morning.

Breakfast was à la carte, with lots of options (highly recommend the French toast!). We also ate at the restaurant twice for dinner during our stay and the pasta, salads and tacos were all delicious.

Staff are lovely, provided an excellent explanation/ map of the island, and helped us organise ATV rental, our Conception hike, and transfers to/ from the ferry.

Overall a fantastic stay, in a beautiful setting, and would highly recommend!

Cons:

Unfortunately Saturday night was exceptionally noisy, with loud music playing nearby, but we’re not sure whether the hotel was to blame for this.

Pros:

We really enjoyed our stay at San Juan in Ometepe. We travelled with our 2 young boys, 1.5 & 4, and they both loved the little play area, the monkeys in the trees, the birds and butterflies in the lush garden and running on the beach. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant food was delicious with good variety, we had all our meals here for 2 days. The room was spacious and the beds were comfy. I would recommend staying with young children.

Cons:

I would have been very convenient to have a fridge in the room for snacks, but we knew that that was not the case. But for future, it could be a huge bonus! The toast at breakfast was a little too hard for our toddler.

Great is you come with a quad or a rental car. With a scooter (like we did), it is quite stressing.
Pros:

The hotel is a former - still working - acienda and is about 2 km away from main road, accessible via a dirt road.
The place is nice in front of the lake but facing East.

Cons:

When we arrived, there were swarms of tiny moscitos (don't bite) that invade everything, rooms and beds included. It diminished the following days but was quite unpleasant. The location is great, the food as well, but it is the windy part of the shores. So, bathing there was not the best option.
Breakfast (gallo pinto and continental) are included. However, basic elements such as platano are served as extra. Not really very nice (even if the price is ok).

Hotel ist etwas übertrieben - wer aber abgeschiedene Tage am Strand verbringen will ist richtig.
Pros:

Ich habe tolle Tage alleine am Strand verbracht. Die Küche ist super!

Cons:

Es sind Fincas, kein Hotel! Inklusive Ameisenstraßen, Kakerlaken und Co. Das gehört halt dazu. Bisschen ab vom Schuss ist es.

A great place to stay and relax, not worrying about the kids as they enjoyed the food and beach.
Pros:

If you have kids including breakfast is a great way to have something for them to eat each morning. Lots of choices to choose from. The beach is great for them as well as the grounds with many areas for them to run around and explore. The staff was very accomodating from the moment we got there. The restaurant has great choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as snacks to buy for the kids. The restaurant staff, front desk and even the maintenance staff were great.

Cons:

Really it has everything you need but the wind is a factor in the evenings. It does keep the bugs away.

It was relaxing, fun and will definitely come back and recommend to friends.
Pros:

The breakfast every day was great. You had a choice of 7 different meals to choose from plus extras if you chose something else. Including breakfast is the way to go. The location was pretty close to shops and even some restaurants. I guess you can say it's a hidden gem.

Cons:

About the only thing was the wind was incredibly strong. But the other side of it the bugs were gone because of the winds.

Posto meraviglioso con alcuni aspetti decisamente non all'altezza
Pros:

1)La posizione immersa nella natura, silenziosa con un panorama bellissimo
2) Ottima cucina e servizio del ristorante
3) bungalow fronte lago totalmente in legno
4) spiaggia del lago di fronte ai bungalow

Cons:

1) acqua con pressione insufficiente( il risparmio energetico è solo una facciata...con più di 100euro a notte possono mettere una pompa)
2) scarsissima illuminazione ( stesso commento per l'acqua)
3) mancanza di scelta cuscini
4) nessuna informazione sulla condizione della strada per arrivare all'hotel...peraltro bellissima che attraversa fattorie con animali e alberi maestosi
5) costi del servizio lavanderia troppo alti
6) AC molto debole ( è indispensabile nella stagione umida e/o nelle giornate con assenza di vento)
