Animal View Point Yala

I loved staying here - it's quirky and different and that made it really special. The host is so friendly and helpful and the food onsite is delicious and plentiful. Isn't it every child's dream to live in a tree house? The view from the balcony overlooking Yale National Park is special. Unfortunately, I was out on safaris for most of the time I was staying there, so I didn't really get to appreciate it fully.

Our stay at Animal View Point was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning location the views are absolutely breathtaking and offer a perfect sense of peace and beauty.

The hospitality here is on another level. The owner is incredibly kind and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. He is genuinely helpful and makes you feel right at home.

But the real secret highlight? His mother’s cooking! Do not miss out on the meals here; she is a fantastic cook and every dish was authentic and delicious. It truly added a special touch to our stay.

If you are looking for a beautiful place with a warm, family atmosphere, this is it. Highly recommended!

The tree house at animal view point was a property full of character. The welcome and the care taken by Shishika and his family was fantastic. The food was very good and it was a real break from the hustle and bustle of Kandy and Ella. We went for an evening walk around the lakes and saw crocodiles, lots of beautiful birds and water buffalo, and were in a great location to get an early start for a safari into Yala block one. It was an amazing day, we saw 4 leopards and a sloth bear amongst many other animals. The hosts were more than happy to help with organising the safari and transfers.

Very nice room and location, and we were very nicely welcomed. The food was excellent. We went for a lovely guided walk around the hotel to see the birds and sunset. We've also seen the new tree house which looks superb and ready to welcome new customers with an amazing view

Die Lage ist einmalig, der Besitzer immer da und sehr besorgt.
Das Essen ist sehr lecker, die Mutter kocht mit dem was die Natur hergibt einfach vorzüglich 😍
Der abendliche Spaziergang durch die Wildnis ein besonderes Highlight.
Als wir schon auf dem Weg zum Bett waren, wurden wir nochmals gerufen, ein Elefant war gleich im See neben dem Grundstück, genial!

Séjour inoubliable chez Shashika et sa famille. Chambre en cabane hyper originale avec vue sur la nature environnante. Douche tiède. Diner absolument délicieux et possibilité de panier petit-déjeuner pour partir en safari le lendemain.
Si le temps et votre itinéraire le permettent, n'hésitez pas à arriver vers 15h-16h pour profiter d'une balade en bordure de parc avec Shashika. Il sait tout sur les animaux, leurs traces, leurs nids... Fascinant !

Shashika is one of the most kind guy I ever met! The position very close to the Yala it’s perfect.
We had a walk with him around the area, we saw so many animals, crocodiles and so many birds. Sometimes you can see even elephants. Go there before sunset and enjoy the view from the tree house. Food made by his mom is above and beyond, traditional and very tasteful

L'endroit est magique et plein de charme, la cabane dans les arbres rend le moment mémorable avec une magnifique vue où l'on peut apercevoir les animaux et la cabane est très confort.

Shashika est adorable et nous a offert une belle balade dans les environs pour nous faire découvrir la faune et la flore sur les bordures du parc de Yala.

Le dîner était excellent et copieux.

Bon rapport qualité prix.

Un endroit parfait où séjourner à yala. Je recommande deux nuits.

Geweldige boomhut op een prachtlocatie aan de grens van Yala. Jonge betrokken eigenaar Shusaka is pas een aantal jaar bezig, op deze kleinschalige, maar eco friendly locatie. Nu alleen een basic boomhut en een huisje, maar bezig met een luxe boomhut en een soort glamping plekje. Homecoocking door mama, heerlijk! Vanuit hier een prachtige safari door Yala, wat hij ook kan regelen. Avondwandeling met hem gemaakt, met sporen van de wilde dieren. Olifanten kwamen s nachts voorbij, zo zag je aan de poep die ze hadden achtergelaten...S ochtends heerlijk wakker worden in de boomhut, naast de vogels en eekhoorntje in de boom.

We would rate our stay 11/10 if we could. An authentic experience in a peaceful setting with the kindest host. Shashika really went the extra mile to make sure we have the best stay - from arranging transfers and safaris to preparing special dishes for breakfast/dinner. And on that note, definitely have dinner there in the evenings! Animal View Point Yala is more than just accommodation, it’s truly an experience :)

On vient dans ce lieu pour l'expérience et le dépaysement et on le trouve ! La cabane est top avec une belle vue ! On est immergé en pleine nature
Et l'hôte est très accueillàt et sympathique nous avons bien échangé ! Et nous avons eu un excellent repas avec plein d'informations sur les différentes assiettes

If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind experience, this is the place to book! We stayed in the treehouse (unfortunately only one night) and it was unforgettable. Although small, it has everything you need: a nice shower, a comfortable bed with mosquito net, and a little terrace with stunning views. This place is heaven for nature lovers — frogs, lizards, and chipmunks wander around, which made the stay feel even more magical to us (though maybe not ideal for those who don’t enjoy wild nature).
What truly makes this place special are the hosts. They are among the kindest, hardest-working people I’ve ever met. I arrived with an injured leg, and they kept checking in on me and making sure I was okay. They also prepared a delicious dinner with local dishes and shared stories about their life and the area, which was fascinating. You can see how much love and effort they’ve put into their place.

Breakfast is available (even for early safari departures), and the host will happily help you arrange a tuktuk or taxi for your next journey.

We would absolutely come back — both for the unique treehouse and the amazing hospitality!

Tutto bellissimo, la struttura è immersa nella natura, vicina ai confini del parco nazionale. Abbiamo soggiornato nel cottage, molto pulito e accogliente. Purtroppo ci siamo fermati solo una notte, ma avremmo voluto stare più a lungo. Lo staff è stato davvero molto accogliente e disponibile, il proprietario ci ha dato tantissime informazioni sugli animali e la zona circostante. Ottima la cena, abbondante. Adatta agli amanti degli animali e della natura (abbiamo avuto la possibilità di vedere moltissimi animali solo passeggiando nei dintorni) . I driver non possono arrivare fino all'ingresso, ma la struttura fornisce dei tuk tuk Che dalla strada principale ti portano direttamente in struttura. Davvero super consigliato, speriamo di tornare ancora da loro.

Our stay was a truly incredible experience. The location was in the heart of the natural environment at Yala, a stunning venue. Shashika and his family devoted their time to make our stay the best it could be, a perfect host. I have to mention the food, it was exceptional.

I booked this based on the excellent reviews, and I was not disappointed in any way!

The host was so friendly and helpful (he organized a safari for us, he informed us about the flat tyre of our car, ...). He went for a walk with us and showed us the surroundings, we learned more about Sri lankan wild life (footprints, showed us animals and plants, ...). The food was so tasty. The place is more beautiful than it seems in the pictures. Everything was so lovely decorated. The host is so passionate about this place, you can feel it.
