Good location near to the ADO and main Plaza. Good helpful reception staff. Nice ambience.
Quiet area but noisy residents banging doors. Also cleaning staff noisy talking/ shouting along corridors and moving furniture in rooms from 8am. Also a hard sell on tipping. You even had to sign for your included breakfast with a red biro circling that service was not included!
I´m really dissapointed. Estoy muy decepcionada.
Room: We requested a quiet room in advance and received the opposite: a room near the main corridor and the elevator. However, due to the hotel's layout, the rooms face either the main corridor, the pool bar, or the main street, making it very difficult to find a quiet room. Additionally, the walls aren't concrete, so I could hear sneezing, conversations in the next room, or even when the TV was turned on.
Furthermore, there were far too many mosquitoes in the room, which was dangerous as they transmit various diseases. The hotel offered to fumigate immediately, but with a chemical that required us to be out of our room for at least three hours, and even then, the smell would be too strong to be in the room.
We requested a room change, but that wasn't possible. My partner had to go and find a less invasive mosquito repellent that would allow us to feel safer, as the hotel couldn't help us.
Restaurant/Bar: I ordered a Tlalpeño soup the first night we arrived, and it turned out the cheese in it was bad and gave me a severe intestinal infection. I had to go to the doctor and buy medication. Unfortunately, it was very severe, and I spent three days with nausea and diarrhea, so I couldn't enjoy my stay in Mérida.
Pool: Unfortunately, it's quite run down, not at all like it looks in the hotel's advertising photos. The floor is peeling and gives a very bad impression. Additionally, there's a lot of weeds around the pool that can hurt your feet if you walk barefoot.
Staff: There's very little staff available, both at reception and in room service. Every time we called reception, they took forever to answer, and if we needed assistance in our room, it also took too long, so we preferred to go down and speak directly with the reception staff.

I really wanted to give this location a 10, especially because the hotel staff was super friendly and accommodating and I am familiar with the Maya brand. It was a one night stay to be closer to the airport after 2 weeks on the peninsula. I do find, however, that there are a few things to bring to attention (I didn't say anything until after I checked out). I had asked for a garden/pool/courtyard room (what was listed on Booking) but got a window overlooking rooftops of the city with no real view but an abandoned building across the street. That's OK, I wasn't there to hang out in the room and not the reason for the lower review score. The room was fine, but DEFINITELY needs blankets or bed covers not just sheets to accommodate those with different sleep needs (so if you sleep with the a/c on to keep the room cooler and filter the humidity definitely ask for covers!!!). The reason I lowered my review is because there was a constant and ongoing LOUD humming on and off the whole time, only to find out afterward that the room backs to the mechanisms for the elevator so every time it moved it sounded like a lion roaring (and had slight vibration). It prevented sleep and then woke me up really really early. More so, however, is restaurant staff - they can do better considering the other amazing staff members! I have lived in Mexico for a while and know how service works here, I am patient, I am kind, and I tend to OVER tip but I was all but ignored. I definitely don't appear native but those who did got immediate service and a smile, while they wouldn't even look my direction when I waved or tried to catch their eye. When I finally flagged somebody down, it apparently wasn't until they realized I speak proficient Spanish that they even asked what I wanted to eat (not knowing because I never got a menu) or bring me coffee. The food wasn't bad when I finally got served but sadly disappointing end to my stay in Merida.
Noise in room (elevator) and restaurant. Location is GREAT but streets have no lights (not a consideration for the score, just pointing out for those who like to walk).
Good location, close to historical center. Good swiming pool area. Room small but enough for calm relax after day activities. Simple but good breakfast!
Too dark in a room. No any lights close to working table.
