We stayed here for one night for our wedding anniversary and we weren’t disappointed. The staff were lovely & friendly. Our room was clean and very comfortable and given the terrible weather, it was nice & warm.
Being as it was raining so much we decided to watch the England Rugby game in the comfort of the bar, by the log fire.
We had a lovely evening meal in the restaurant and again, the staff were excellent. I highly recommend the sea bass.
Breakfast was your usual selection of cereals, fruits and hot food which was self service.
We wouldn’t think twice about returning, but perhaps when the weather is better so we can see more of the area. The outside seating area looks like it would be great in the summer.
And did I mention the staff were great :-)
Absolutely nothing to dislike. And the onsite parking was good.
It was a very comfortable stay and all the staff were amazing!
None
breakfast was great . starters at dinner were overpriced £12.95 a bit much.
all good apart from meal starters price
The location of the hotel is great both for the local amenities and as a base for touring the Cotswolds. Lovely fluffy white towels. We met some lovely people there too at The Pudding Club held there on Friday evening.
The room needs a bit of a personality injection and a general upgrade. Very bland and tired.
We were there for a party.
The room was very tired, old furniture, rust stains in bathroom.
Excellent location in picturesque Cotswold village. Cosy and welcoming foyer and bar with nice warm fires. Staff were friendly, helpful and hospitable .Rooms were really clean and comfortable .Liked the choice of a bath or shower with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was really good ,with a great choice ,including varied selection of fruit and cereals .The full English was a proper local breakfast, with really friendly hostessing courtesy of Sally! We had a meal in the hotel on one of the evenings and it was delicious -would recommend the shoulder of lamb (the price of the meals was similar to the two other hostelries in Mickleton.) A particular bonus is 'Happy Hour ' at the bar in the afternoon (which lasts until 6pm ).There was also a scenic view of the hotel garden and the village from our window ,which also indicates the potential for a pleasant Summer afternoon or evening in their beer garden. We will return!
Perfect stay.Thanks.
We took our Dog and the room was great with a little garden he could use
The location was beautiful. The thing I loved most were the staff, especially the lady on the check in who was so friendly and helpful. It makes a massive difference to be greeted by a friendly helpful face x
Nothing
Friendly staff, good breakfast, happy hour in the bar, cozy feel to the hotel
Had to move room as the beer cooler was running from 5.45 am to 10.45 pm and the noise was intrusive but they let us move and were very gracious about it so full marks to them.
Good breakfast, lovely open fire in reception, comfy bed.
Curtains in my room were tacked to the wall and the carpets throughout were badly stained.
Great staff.lovely breakfast and dinner.comfy beds.
Cosy log fires. Very laid back.
Mould in the shower cabinet. In need of some tlc.
Only breakfast, this was wonderful
I was unhappy with my stay at this hotel. I had specifically requested for a quiet room upon booking as it was vital I got a good night's sleep. Instead up until about 2am there were sounds that sounded like renovation works going on, very loud voices and on top of that the sounds of pots and pans bashing about in the room next door to me. I got no sleep at all, which impacted me badly the next day as I was on a business trip. Breakfast was wonderful, but the female host wasn't very friendly, she didn't say good morning when I was the first to breakfast in the morning. I am hesitant to stay at this hotel again for fear of the same bad experience.
Lovely lady's which they have got to knows us after a few years of coming
Location was good for what we needed. Breakfast and breakfast staff was excellent.
Our room was extremely disappointing. It was up two steep flights of stairs - good job we weren’t trying to take up cases for longer than a one night stay. Carpets and decor in need of freshening. The room was just big enough for a chair and double bed with small dressing table and coffee making facilities built into the eves. A fan on the dressing table was needed for air as it was hot and stuffy, being so small.
The bathroom was just big enough to squeeze into and the sink had a large and grubby crack.
From site photographs I was expecting a much nicer room.
Yoghutrt and fruit good
Bread and croissants.
Lovely building, clean tidy and comfortable
Excellent breakfast!!,friendly and helpful staff.
Spacious room serviced each day of our stay.
Quiet hotel.
Able to park car in car park.
Nothing that we could find fault with.
