It felt like a scam
Pros:

The only clear advantage of the hotel is the close proximity to the dunes. Some staff members did seem to make an effort, and the older gentleman who appeared to be the owner came across as genuinely kind and decent.

Cons:

Considering the stay itself, I feel obliged to warn other guests: if you are thinking about booking this place, read this before spending your money — especially given the surprisingly positive reviews. After I left my initial negative rating, the manager contacted me several times via WhatsApp and also called me. This made me feel pressured and made me seriously question whether those very positive reviews give an accurate picture of this property.

The room offered the most authentic desert experience of the stay: intense heat, no functioning air conditioning, and a lively ecosystem of flies and mosquitoes. Apparently, they had found their own oasis in the desert — my room. Trying to reduce their population was symbolic at best, since the door could not be closed properly. The lock looked as if it had been broken before and repaired with more optimism than skill.

The bathroom followed the same standard. The shower had only cold water, although the temperature was almost irrelevant because the water pressure was extremely weak. The toilet flushed constantly, which may explain why the water was apparently busy elsewhere. The floor had visible stains, including what looked like marks from insects killed by previous guests — at best, reddish drops.

The atmosphere around the stay also felt uncomfortable. During dinner, staff members sat down with me, asked personal questions about Europe, money, and opportunities to earn money there. They also talked about people they knew who had allegedly made millions in Europe with Moroccan export products. Maybe this was meant as friendly conversation. As a guest, it felt quite strange and unprofessional.

Checkout made the experience worse. This was not handled by the older gentleman mentioned above, but by the manager. He added the stay, dinner and taxes and first arrived at around 730 MAD. Then unclear extra items appeared, and finally he “rounded” the amount up to 800 MAD, presenting it as a generous offer in excha

Vriendelijk personeel.

Cons:

Jammer dat de airco het niet deed. Al werd het de dag erna gelijk gemaakt. En krijgen een mobiele airco wat wel een beetje hielp.

Une semaine au calme dans ce lieu dépaysant,l’effet recherché.
Pros:

L’accueil des proprios , deux frères qui ont construit de leur main ce petit joyau aux portes du désert .
Simplicité du lieu ,La piscine ,les repas à la demande tjrs copieux .
Les activités proposées .. le manager efficace à vous trouver tout ce que vous désirez faire .

Pros:

Das Hotel hat einen großen Pool im weiten, baumbestandenen Innenhof. Die Zimmer sind riesig mit eigenem Vorraum mit Tisch und ganz geräumigem Bad. Für 10 Eur gab es ein reichliches, schmackhaftes Menü zum Abendessen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Hotel liegt direkt an Rand der Dünen, so dass man schon nach wenigen Minuten in den Dünen wandern kann. Ist eine echte und preiswerte Alternative zu einem Zeltcamp in den Dünen, wo man viel Geld für den Transfer zu einem Camp ausgeben muss.

Dit hotel heeft de potentie om een 10 te halen maar door achterstallig onderhoud en het gemis van liefde voor de plek en haar gasten een 7. Zwembad is heerlijk.

Nous avons passé un très agréable moment dans cet hôtel idéalement situé au pied des magnifiques dunes de sable. Le cadre est dépaysant et la piscine est parfaite pour se détendre après une journée d’excursion.
Les chambres sont vraiment très grandes, confortables et bien climatisées, ce qui est un vrai plus dans la région.
Côté restauration, le dîner et le petit déjeuner sous forme de buffet à volonté sont variés et de qualité — chacun y trouve son bonheur !
Un grand merci à Marwane, qui a été particulièrement serviable, attentionné et toujours disponible pour rendre notre séjour encore plus agréable.
Nous recommandons sans hésitation cet établissement et y reviendrons avec plaisir !

5 star for a desert hotel.
Pros:

Loved the location, no sand or dust despite the dunes being very close. Breakfast was very good. Bed very comfortable had a good nights sleep. Will we booking again next time I am in Merzouga.

El encanto del paso de los años y su ubicación al lado de las dunas hace un de el un lugar muy especial, muy integrado en el entorno desértico. Estuvimos muy a gusto.
