The hotel is quite old and outdated, but the staff are great all around.

Cons:

Very outdated hotel. The bed linen is worn and looks old, and the carpets are dark and in poor condition. The room was small and dated. Overall, it does not offer value for money.

Pros:

The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for you. The food was good and the atmosphere was great

Cons:

The beds were too hard for me but there were additional quilts in the room so I just used one as a bed topper and this helped a little

Disappointing stay due to security staff

The gentleman who checked us in was excellent. We have stayed here before and have consistently received a warm and professional welcome from him, which has always made a positive first impression.

Cons:

The handling of late night access and the conduct of a security staff member, Carlos, was extremely disappointing. Upon returning to the hotel at approximately 1:30am, we were initially refused entry and had the door closed in our faces despite being residents. After showing our room key and confirming our room number we were eventually let in. Shortly afterwards, we went into the bar area simply to purchase crisps. While waiting, we were approached again by the same staff member and asked to leave. We were then escorted out in front of a large number of guests with the claim that we had provided an incorrect room number, which was not the case. This was handled in a very public and confrontational manner, with other guests observing and some even laughing, making the situation extremely embarrassing. The entire interaction was unprofessional and poorly managed, and it significantly impacted our stay.

Pros:

The location is excellent. The room was big and comfortable. The staff are nice.

Cons:

There were no allergens listed on the food at breakfast. The gluten free bread wasn't nice, it was burnt toast and very hard. The gluten free sausages were unpleasant. There was loud music playing directly under our room until very late.

Pros:

On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the location of the hotel was good.
Overall, the stay was okay, but the misleading information about the facilities and lack of communication left us disappointed.

Cons:

We chose this hotel primarily because it advertised a swimming pool, fitness centre, and sauna. Unfortunately, we discovered upon arrival that these facilities are not located on-site. The pool is off-site, open to the public, and closes shortly after check-in time, making it impractical to use. The staff in the reception did not seem to interested in a complaint about this that it was misleading.
This was not clearly communicated in advance and felt misleading, particularly as these amenities were the main reason we selected this hotel.

The check-in clerk was fine but not overly friendly. When we asked for local restaurant recommendations, she only mentioned the bar/restaurant onsite and didn’t offer any other suggestions. We also weren’t provided with any information about WiFi access during check-in.

At breakfast, the toaster in the breakfast room was broken, which was another small but frustrating inconvenience. There was also no water provided in the rooms upon check-in, which is something we would normally expect in a 4 star hotel.
