Some of the Resturants close early on most days..
The warm welcome and friendliness of staff. As a repeat guest, I appreciated the warm welcome and that they could remember me. The bed and pillows are amazing for a good nights rest. I absolutely loved the Spa and the ladies that assisted us there are absolutely amazing. What a great experience at the Spa.
I was really looking forward to seeing the newly renovated Hazendal for the first, but got really disappointed with the new upgrades. It was very difficult to access our room, the newly created shortcut path is not user-friendly at all especially for ladies and their different types of shoes e.g. I cant use that path if it's raining or I'm wearing heels as it's sandy and gets muddy. This means I have to walk all the way around the hotel just to access reception desk or when leaving the hotel which is very cumbersome. Not sure why the previous beautiful glass walk way was done away with.
Secondly I was very disappointed to see the outdoor restaurant and grass / lawn sitting area which was near the reception, has now been replaced by a pond which also restricts some of the beautiful views we enjoyed there previously and the kids just running around the lawn while we eat and are able to see them.
Hotel itself is lovely rooms very comfortable and staff all very nice . The whisky room and classic cars on display are amazing.
The food - Very disappointing. We arrived on a Wednesday to find the only restaurant open was the hotel restaurant . We were the only guests dining with no ambience.The food took one hour to arrive and when it arrived was not at all like what it described on the menu.
Breakfast was a total shambles apart from our last morning on the Saturday where they had a buffet of cold foods which was very good and hot foods to order.
We did have an excellent meal in their fine dining restaurant on the Thursday.
Loved the attention to detail when it came to the staff. The actual hotel facility and its amenities is stunning.
Wasn’t much halaal/ vegetarian options for dinner from the in-house restaurant/ room service.
Meals we ordered were average (fish and ricotta pasta).

Staff couldn’t be more helpful. From check in to check out we were treated so well. As we stayed for our honeymoon they set up a beautiful romantic candle lit dinner in our room. Lovely clean rooms. Big breakfast.
Quite far from stellenbosch just to be aware and quite quiet but that’s the time of year!

Gostamos de tudo. O atendimento foi excelente desde a chegada. A Najma foi excepcional durante toda a hospedagem, sempre muito atenciosa, perguntando sobre nossos interesses, verificando se precisávamos de algo e garantindo que tivéssemos a melhor experiência possível. O quarto era impecável, muito confortável, com cama excelente, roupas de cama, toalhas e roupões de altíssima qualidade. A estrutura do hotel é linda, com ambientes muito bem cuidados e uma arquitetura encantadora. O espaço de degustação de vinhos e o Marks Bar têm uma estética impecável, e as áreas externas, com o casarão histórico, a pequena galeria e a vista deslumbrante tornam o ambiente ainda mais especial. Os restaurantes são excelentes, a academia é muito bem equipada, a sala de cinema privativa com pipoca de cortesia é um diferencial e a Wonderdal foi um grande destaque para nossa filha: está incluída na hospedagem, conta com monitores dedicados e oferece uma experiência fantástica para as crianças. Para completar, a equipe preparou um café da manhã para viagem porque nosso check-out foi antes das 7h. Outro gesto que demonstra o nível de atenção aos detalhes foi quando o funcionário que trouxe nosso carro fez questão de limpar os vidros, que estavam embaçados por causa da forte neblina, antes de nos entregar o veículo. São esses pequenos cuidados que tornam a experiência realmente excepcional.
