Comfortable and stylish with very helpful staff
Pros:

very stylish refurb of old building, esp bedroom fittings.
Nice rooftop terrace bar restaurant with good views and cocktails
Very helpful staff

Cons:

The double bed on a raised platform was awkward to get into if you slept in the right side

It was a lovely quirky hotel which was clean and ideally located to enjoy Shanghai.
Pros:

It was clean and unique. It was in a great location. Most of the staff were helpful.

Cons:

One staff member was very abrupt when we asked for a little bit of milk for our room to make English tea. We appreciate that there was a language difference but she seemed annoyed when we asked.

Don’t understand why there are always a few young people standing on the ground floor ? ( where the elevator is located)

Pros:

El personal fue muy amable en todo momento, y me ayudaron con un paquete que recibí en el hotel al buscarlo en la entrada y luego volver a subírmelo a la habitación. Muy satisfecha con el personal.

Cons:

1: La ubicación. La ubicación no es la que me esperaba. la que aparece en el mapa de booking NO es. Es otra y no es una zona agradable
2: La habitación: es muy pequeña y descuidada.
3: La limpieza: al acostarme en la cama, salió un insecto caminado por encima. No se si era una pulga o cucaracha pequeña. Horrible

Overall it’s a beautiful old colonial building with modern interiors
Pros:

The bed was comfortable and it was quiet at night. Great location

Cons:

I could not find the button to flush the toilet.

Amazing hotel, lacking staff
Pros:

The hotel is at an excellent location. The Shamei building is absolutely stunning and it was renovated in an amazing way which mixes old and modern with a very vibey furniture. The room is small but it is organized in a very smart way so that nothing is really missing, just some storage space (no wardrobe).

Cons:

Very specific for our case but the staff at the property was fine though we reached out via the chat (calling would have been an issue as they do not speak English well) to inform that we were expecting the delivery of a package. The staff was texting back exclusively in Chinese (so we had to translate every single message) even if we were texting them in English, and they were absolutely sly helpful with our request, absolutely terrible experience.

Nice hotel in historic building
Pros:

The Building is just so beautiful. the hotel is located in a historic colonial building. the reception is on the 2nd floor where is also the restaurant for the breakfast. the Rooms are designed well and very efficient. Still, they were very tight. We had a balcony which was a great addition. Location was also very good. Just a few min walking to the Bund.

Cons:

there is driveway or parking spot for cars. The taxi had to stop on the road about 20m from the entrance to unload the luggage.
