Beautifully done restoration/repurposing of former convent & girls school.
Decor in public rooms and hotel rooms is lovely and reflects hotel’s original purpose.
Location was perfect. We were in Frederick to attend event in center of town. Lovely neighborhood and just a little over a block to shopping/restaurant area
Almost impossible to regulate temp in shower or sink — although fixtures are brand new
Nothing. It was an antiquated place with no parkingi
I didn't stay there but couldn't cancel.
The pet fee for 3 tiny dogs for 1 night was going to be $450 non refundable.
I went elsewhere where it was reasonable and decent
We loved the history and the ambiance of the hotel itself. It was clearly a passion project for the city and was really neat to stay in.
1- the rooms weren’t heated adequately, which the hotel clearly knew since they had placed heaters in the bathroom and bedroom. At the very least, this could have been a warning when booking. However, our room couldn’t get past 66 degrees the entire stay with negative temps outside.
2- there were holes in the robe and eye makeup still on the bathroom towels
3- the cafe food didn’t live up to expectation and coffee tasted bitter. Just more of a note to spend a bit more time training and making those aspects as the restaurant was fantastic.
4-I found the cafe staff rude.
5- overall, the cost between the room rate, taxes, and valet were WAY overpriced for a super small, unheated room with no room service and minimal views.
Very immaculate, location convenient.
Live the attention to details in the renovation. From light fixture to carpet!! Excellent job! Cafe and wye oak tavern for dinner was excellent!
Nothing really!! Would come back again!
History
There was nothing I didn’t like, I will be back
Clean, boutique style hotel, trendy
There wasn’t any in the coffee shop stood there for awhile and no came in to help.
Beautiful new hotel that I booked for my daughter and her fiancé. His family was in town and they were staying there too.
They were tired and went to bed early.
But they could not sleep because of their location to the kitchen.
Finally at midnight- it was quiet.
The hotel attendant gave them a breakfast voucher- this is not a new issue .
Excellent location. Short walk to everything in town. The room was spacious and the bathroom was very modern. Perfect for four girls needing plenty of room to do makeup lol. Highlight was the front desk Monterra was so kind and helpful. She gave us great restaurant suggestions. Very personable. If she’s at the front desk, your check in will run as smooth as silk. Got a small peek in the ballroom. Perfect for someone who was a rustic or bohemian wedding. Excellent venue. 10 out of 10. You know this girl is gonna be back when I’m in town.
Only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the lack of plugs near the desk. Made it hard to do my hair when others were in the bathroom. The worlds smallest issue. Honestly, the place is fantastic. Highly suggest.
Newly appointed room. Comfortable bedding. Wonderful staff!
Noisy between rooms; outdoor entry, so outdoor noise. Not recommended for those with disabilities.
Friendly staff. Cleanliness. Spacious and new. Location.
New, beautiful hotel
Parking was only valet
Very friendly staff; exceptionally clean room. Even with the vintage architecture, the Visitation felt modern. The only drawback was the people in the adjoining room - they were very loud. Some rooms do not seem to have isolated acoustics.
We were in room 106, right under the restaurant/ballroom. There was a wedding reception there last night. It was VERY loud until 11 pm, then they started tearing down and cleaning up EARLY this morning. It was very loud, and woke us up at 7 a.m. that was very disappointing.
Room was nice, but lacked a place to sit-other than bed. No chairs on porch outside of door-unlike many other rooms.
Extraordinary design and furnishings.
