The overall look of the hotel, location
AC wasn't properly working which made our night not as refreshing.
The location, the great decor and the views
Avoid coming here if you are looking for good treatment. The staff at the reception are inattentive and could not care less about the guests. They don’t even look at you when they are talking.
We booked the room 6 months in advance and we received the room beside the elevators. We asked for a better room and they said we can wait 40 min and there was a small surcharge. The small surcharge was 187$ per night and we only find out at check out!
This is NOT a five star hotel.
I liked the history behind the Hotel.
The room was run down. The carpet was stained. Dust was visible across the room. The iron provided was old and rusty, and it ruined one of my shirts. Water was running in the WC toilet all night, which disrupted my sleep. The television looked at least twenty years old. I have photos of all of these issues.
The bigger problem was the price. My friends and I booked the same category of room for the same dates. Their average rate was $180 including tax. I paid $326 including tax for a room in the same condition. When I asked at reception, the manager was rude and said the higher price came from booking.com, not from the hotel.
To make things worse, breakfast was not included in my rate, and I was asked to pay separately for it the next morning.
For this price, I expected a maintained room and basic transparency on rates. I did not get either. I cannot recommend this hotel.
