Extremely disappointing experience - unacceptable service for a “high-rated” hotel

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was bad enough that I feel obligated to warn others.

From the moment my wife and I arrived, the atmosphere was uncomfortable. There was no warmth, no welcome, and no basic hospitality-just cold, dismissive behavior. The staff member who gave us our room instructions appeared visibly irritated, which immediately set the tone for our stay.

The restaurant experience was even worse. Our requests were ignored, our food order was delayed without explanation, and when the food finally arrived, it was handled and placed on the table in an openly disrespectful manner. Plates were dropped down carelessly, almost thrown, as if we were an inconvenience rather than paying guests.

One particular waiter-an older male staff member-was especially rude and unprofessional. His attitude, tone, and behavior were completely inappropriate for any hospitality setting, let alone a hotel charging over $200 per night. At one point, he addressed us with a dismissive remark that made both my wife and me deeply uncomfortable (the remark was "Yal" while throwing the plates on the table).

When you pay premium prices, you reasonably expect basic courtesy: eye contact, a smile, and respectful treatment. Unfortunately, this hotel delivers none of that. The high ratings are misleading and do not reflect the reality of the service we experienced.

Management seriously needs to reevaluate the restaurant team and overall service culture. If no changes are made, I would strongly advise travelers to look elsewhere-there are many hotels that charge similar prices and actually understand what hospitality means.

It was Not a good choice
Pros:

I was honestly disappointed with my stay. The hotel felt very old and far from my expectations. The furnitures are outdated, and the bathroom was not clean or well-maintained. I had booked 4 nights, and the cancellation policy stated I wouldn’t get any refund if I canceled. However, after staying just one night, I decided to leave, and the team handled it very professionally and refunded my money. I really appreciate how they managed the situation
