We booked the homestay last minute. But Jar the host was very welcoming along with his wife and children. They were so hospitable and friendly. We also had delicious home cooked meals every day. The rooms are basic, no aircon but clean. I highly recommend this homestay to anyone looking to experience what daily life is like in Lombok

We have spent 5 nights in Zinzi homestay and we loved every minute of it! This is an experience that has definitely shaped us as travellers. You are catapulted in a heartwarming family context. They treat you with the best hospitality possible. You are fed many times a day with exceptional dishes made with love from Rose Riadah and Meme and if you want you can cook with them and witness how they make the best food we have ever eaten since starting travelling. The room where you stay is exceptionally clean and smells fresh - you don't really need much more, the essentials are set up for you in the room. The house is in a village, 5 mins walk from a supermarket and the local market and If you hire a scooter surrender by ricefields. At 4 am you have the Imam singing and praying for 30 mins and you will certainly hear him every single time but we got used to it and we appreciate the real Lombok experience. Jar, the owner, a very sweet and funny man, will entertain you for hours if you wish to and will propose you activities to do nearby ( all worthwhile). You will soon feel like a local :) on our last day we organised a family trip to pink beach in the south of the island and we hired a big van and brought all the family with us (15 people) - it was a memorable day.
We will always bring our Lombok family in our heart and we can't wait to see them again soon. Thank you Jar and family for everything!

Wat een unieke ervaring met deze bijzondere gastvrije familie. Een heerlijk rustige plek, weg van het toerisme en back to basic. Vanaf aankomst werden we al hartelijk ontvangen en kwamen de eerste hapjes met thee op tafel.
Het gezin met 3 kinderen gaf ons een kijkje in hun dagelijkse leven. Met Jar (papa Zinzi) hadden we gezellige gesprekken en vertelde hij over hun leven in Lombok en de opbouw van hun homestay. Met Purit bracht hij ons naar prachtige rijstvelden, zagen we hoe vrouwen sarongs maakten en woonden we de tradionele Sasak stickfighting bij. De maaltijden die mama Zinzi bereidde met Zinzi en oma: ongelooflijk veel en heerlijk! Wat hebben wij genoten. Onze jarige dochter werd zelfs verrast met gezang en kaarsjes. De avonden waren gezellig, en hadden de kinderen veel lol met elkaar.
Oudste dochter Zinzi deed het fantastisch. We hebben een geweldig verblijf gehad. Bedankt en zeker een aanrader.

Very friendly and helpful family. My kids loved it there and wanted to even stay more.
The area was a bit upon hill, which had very fresh air. Everything was fresh and natural.

If you want a true Lombok (Sasak) experience, this is the perfect place to stay. The homestay is modest but very clean, plus what makes it special is the wonderful family with their huge welcoming hearts.
The home-cooked food was absolutely delicious—and if you’d like something different, you can simply buy special ingredients at the local market, and they’ll prepare a fantastic meal for you.
They were even thoughtful enough to offer me earplugs for the early morning prayers, which shows how much they care about their guests.
During my stay, I truly felt like part of their extended family—taking it slow, walking around the rice fields, and enjoying the rhythm of everyday village life.

Jar and Rusmini went out of their way to welcome us into their home, we were greeted with warmth and immediately the delicious food began. The family were kind enough to invite us to eat with them and spend time chatting and snacking with them and the extended family. The tour we did with Jar was great and showed the rural life of Lombok. The food and hospitality were the highlight of this stay. If you are looking for a genuine homestay you won't regret coming here. As already mentioned in other reviews, expect an early wake-up from the Mosques and cockerels next door (4am ish). It didn‘t detract from our stay. Thank you Jar and Rusmini for an unforgettable stay, we miss you and the banquets!

Amazing local experience within the amazing familly. Amazing, various food is given for the meals (i asked for local breakfast which was great experience too) in quantities and variety you cant imagine. You can also get organized trips to the beach / monkey forest-waterfalls- rice fileds or other taxi drop off.

Das war ein absoluter Glückstreffer! Wir wurden stutzig als wir all inclusive homestay gelesen haben und mussten es einfach ausprobieren. Die Familie ist so liebenswert und das Essen von Rose war unglaublich! Es ist nicht vergleichbar mit den ganzen Warungs in denen wir vorher gegessen habt... Das ist wirkliche indonesische Küche, und es war so viel das wir nie alles essen konnten. Abgesehen von dem Essen haben wir wir hier die nettesten Menschen überhaupt kennengelernt. Sie haben uns alle Highlights in Tete Batu und Umgebung gezeigt. Und es sind Erinnerungen die ich niemals vergessen werde. Jar und seine Familie wurden zu unseren zweiten Familie. Ich würde jederzeit wieder bei ihnen einchecken. Eines meiner besten Erlebnisse in Indonesien! Deswegen, kamen wir auch noch mal zurück. Danke für die gemeinsame Zeit! Unbezahlbar.

Le meilleur sejour de notre aventure je le recommande +++ les hôtes sont adorable rusmini , jar et leurs enfants sont des personnes formidables ils nous ont accueilli comme si on fesait parti de leur famille . Rusmina cuisine incroyablement bien . Prévoyez d’y rester au moins 2 nuits pour vraiment profiter et etre avec eux . En bref n’hesitez pas vous vivrez chez eux et comme eux

We loved every minute we spent at Zinzi‘s Homestay.
Our guest family put in a tremendous effort to make this an unforgettable and authentic experience.
We shared every meal, the food was incredible. At the same time it never felt like an obligation to spend the time with the family. We always felt like we have our own space.
Our host also took us to some local events, showed us around and was super helpful with any kind of further questions regarding our travels.
All together our short visit felt like making friends with the family. We’ll come back for sure.

Een fantastisch verblijf in 2 kamers daadwerkelijk bij de mensen thuis. De eigenaar neemt je overal mee naar toe (o.a. stokgevecht, plaatselijke markt, watervallen, pottenbakken, weverij) en het eten was ook verrukkelijk. Het hele gezin helpt mee om er een geweldige ervaring van te maken.

From the moment I arrived, Jar, Rose, and their family made me feel at home and very well fed. I wanted to escape the chaos of Kuta and it was so lovely to stay here for a more authentic experience. I felt like part of the family as we shared meals and chatted about our cultures. It was so fun hanging and playing with their girls. Jar organized various activities in the area such as scooter rides to the rice fields, a weaving workshop, and a trip to the local market. Rose was so kind and did my laundry during my stay as well as non-stop cooked the most amazing meals! This experience was just what I was looking for—the real Lombok!

Amazing experience! Shutout to Rosa who was cooking all day authentic Indonesian food! Nowhere else you will have this much local and delicious food made with love!

Tout était parfait, on ne peut pas parler de personnel mais bien d'une famille qui vous accueille avec beaucoup de simplicité et d'authenticité.
Les chambres sont très simples avec l'essentiel. Eau filtrée à disposition, nous avons eu la chance d'arriver un dimanche donc tous les enfants de la famille étaient là.
Nos filles ont passé 2 jours géniaux. On se sent vraiment comme à la maison.
Jar et sa femme Russ sont aux petits soins. Cuisine excellente car c'est un tout inclus avec 3 repas par jour. Ils nous ont amené dans des lieux supers.
Enfin une expérience authentique.

Vous êtes à 20 min de scooter des rizières en terrasse (location possible sur place ou chauffeur sur demande - en plus) et à 5 min à pied du centre du village.

The family is very welcome and hospitable.
Mom cooked delicious local meals, so we were able to enjoy traditional dishes.
They took as to the rivers and local places during our stay.
The father Jar speaks English well, so there was no trouble with communication.
During our trip to Lombok we came back to this homestay again because of the family and their daughter Pia.
She is very nice kid and made our stay unforgettable.
We played with her all days long, she is very clever and understanding kid, which is surprising at her age.
The room and the house is clean, they manage to maintain it well.
We are willing to come back again there!
I can say that they become our second family in Lombok.

If you're looking for a truly authentic experience, this is the perfect place. From the moment we arrived, Zar and Ros welcomed us like members of their own family. Zar is funny and speaks good English, and his wife is an incredible cook — every meal and snacks was a treat (let’s say we ate way too much during our stay but holiday holiday 😂).
Life with them is simple and genuine. Everything is included — three delicious meals a day, water, tea, coffee, and snacks — so you can just relax and follow the family's rhythm. One day, they invited us to join them and their extended family to the beach, which turned into an unforgettable memory. We also visited a local pool, I went to the barber with Zar and even got to see chicken fights.
To fully embrace the experience, we recommend staying at least two or three days. It gives you the time to truly connect with the local lifestyle and the people.
Our room was clean and comfortable, with a private bathroom. They even did our laundry for us, which was such a kind gesture.
We had a wonderful time with this family and really hope others will have the chance to share in this special experience.
