Clean rooms and everything in good order.
The staff were great. I arrived at 8pm and kitchen closed at 7.45pm. They were very kind an accommodating sorting me out. The room was nice, clean and comfy. Great atmosphere in the pub.

Disappointing that no breakfast was available. Terrace was not private and immediately adjacent to pub terrace where customers had been smoking..

Little disappointed as they called last orders in the bar at 9.30pm on a sat evening. No breakfast was available, would have been nice to have been made aware in advance to enable us to have prepared for this. As we were on foot as doing the southern upland way, we had to walk to Moffat (2 miles) in the wrong direction to get some food before we continued on our trek.
Beds comfy, Lovely good value evening meal. Great community atmosphere.

My room was exceptional very clean and a bathroom better than mine at home! All the staff I met were super, the food I ate was nice and they keep a good pint.

Great location for an overnight stop en route south with free parking. Friendly village pub in an interesting old building, with a warm welcome & helpful staff. Comfortable room with everything we needed and a nice evening meal. Just down the road from Moffat which is a lovely little town to visit.
It's not that we didn't like it but we felt the bedroom furniture/decor was a little "tired" & perhaps lacking in the finishing touches now standard in more modern accommodation/hotels. However it was spotlessly clean & comfortable so we've got no complaints & were happy to support this independent & family run business.
This was our second stay at this hotel. The room had been recently refurbished and was lovely, clean and warm.
The evening meal was excellent and the staff were friendly and efficient.
