Bar and restaurant were lacking atmosphere
Quaint & fait facilities
A lot to steps to room
No staff present to meet us and no breakfast available or staff the next day
Staff tried hard to make the stay as best as poossible.
There where lots of minor things that just where not right and we had to chase for
1. Water pressure in room was very poor
2. Breakfast was poor service good but lots thins just not there
An amazing place to stay. It felt like going back in history. The 400 year old building was beautiful and atmospheric with upgrades that enhanced the experience. From check in with Morgan - the desk guy- who set the scene for an epic stay, telling tales of ghosts and highwayman to the quirky staircase, room with priesthole and Tudor windows the place was fantastic fun. We loved it. Go and stay in a museum- you won’t regret it.
The building is old and quirky but still has old mod cons. Can’t complain.
Location was walking distance to my relatives
We mentioned within 1 hour of arrival the toilet seat was very loose it was still not sorted 3 days later
The hot water took forever to come through and water pressure so low we didn't attempt to use the shower
Also untidy outside cigarettes butts all over the grass
Staff we exceptionally helpful. The Hotel was very old and they kept the original doors etc. It was very quiet stay. It was nice to have a very large double bed. Shower/bath was very good. A small shop round the corner.
The large bed was made up with 2 single beds but they were different heights which made a hill in the middle of the bed. It made it difficult to roll over. There were marks on the wall where there should of been a towel rail. The bath tap was constantly running, we could not turn it completely off. The bathroom sink plug was faulty and would not pop up. T.V. was difficult to get any channels. The room seamed a little tired and probably needs a refresh. These negative points still didn't detract from our stay. We will be back.
It has a lot of character
The general areas were not heated and very cold.
Lovely old biilding, location ideal for us. Pleasant staff.
Room up two flights of stairs, small room, shower doors poor, no shower gel , no wardrobe or hanging clothes facility . .ex back if bathroom door.
Its proximity to everything we needed was brilliant and the historic building was everything we hoped for.
Our room wasn’t all that lovely, unfortunately. Smelled very musty (our son’s at the opposite end of the hotel was so much better)
But the breakfast was lovely and the staff so very friendly, so all good
Beautiful decor
Lamp not working
