Exceptional staff and stay
Pros:

Great staff very attentive when the hair dryer wasn’t working in our room they came straight to the room with a new one, fresh milk provided was a very nice touch.

Cons:

Sound from neighbouring bars was a little loud but that’s not the hotels fault

The location was great and the breakfast was amazing. The room was cosy too.

Not having hot water for a bath. We did ask twice but nothing was done about it.

The feature room was exceptional, the big bed, the bath!

Not much not to like, the decoration was stunning, the staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was incredible!

Excellent with helpful staff.My regret was not staying for breakfast as the restaurant looked sumptuous

Unfortunately I was disturbed by rowdy behaviour in the street outside throughout the early hours of the morning, however , this could not be blamed on the hotel or staff

Decent hotel in a great location. Lovely staff but didn’t feel 5 star.
Pros:

Excellent location, clean room, complimentary hot drinks, helpful staff, nice seating area outside

Cons:

Quite a basic and small room, particularly for the price. Quite expensive, the room was very warm despite cool weather, funny smell and noise from bath plughole

Lovely hotel, lots of history in fab location - 9 mins walk from York station or 3 mins by cab
Pros:

Wonderful hotel in a fab location, full of history and comfortable rooms and a great restaurant. Close to the Shambles and the Minster

Cons:

No lift but not the end of the world but if disabled request a lower floor and chrck if can accommodate if climbing stairs is an issue. Our bags were carried up after we dropped them off to explore which was a nice surprise

Would stay again, when returning to York
Pros:

Centrally located for attractions and shops.
Room was well appointed, quiet and very clean
Staff were very friendly and helpful
Food was good value and tasty
Breakfast was excellent good choice for buffet or cooked

Cons:

Room was a little on the small side, two people plus luggage would have been cosy.
Water was hot, but pressure a bit low for washing hair.
Room shutters did not block out much light a night, so room was well lit

Pros:

Lovely, friendly staff. Very clean, great showers, comfortable beds. Aga, assistant manager, was absolutely wonderful!! The location is wonderful and I cant wait to come back again. Highly recommended!!
