L'arredamento delle stanze, la posizione centrale, i servizi come il room service.

Cons:

Purtroppo nella nostra stanza, in bagno sopratutto, c'era un forte odore di fritto e cucinato, proveniente dalle cucine al piano di sotto.

Perfect quiet central location.
Pros:

Central location, very helpful and happy staff. Our rooms were on the terrace, which we found quiet and very sweet. Would book that room again for sure. Lovely shutters on the windows and comfortable bed.

Cons:

We didn't get new water bottles on the second night, which would have been good.

A curate’s egg- very good in parts, quite lacking in other areas
Pros:

The location was great. The bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was tremendous.

Cons:

There are only quirky and uneven staircases. There are no fridges in the rooms.

Right where you want to be in York
Pros:

On a warm sunny week in York, this hotel is at the center of town activity. The outdoor patio restaurant is full at all times, a lovely place to be--and the food is a cut above the standard pub menus. It's a walkable distance to all city sights and also to the train station, just outside the congested area nearer to the cathedral. The hotel is beautifully decorated to reflect the building's history. Breakfast is outstanding.

Cons:

There are several flights of stairs up to the character rooms, something to consider. As in older buildings, there also is no air conditioning. During the hot days we were there, a fan was provided in the room, which worked well, and all windows were left open.

Pros:

From arriving the staff were amazing ,could not do any more for us ,kept a hold of our bag untill booking time ,room was exceptional. Beautiful front beer garden and rear ,food was amazing ,would highly recommend, thanks again to all staff

A Beautiful Hotel, Perfect Location, Amazing Staff
Pros:

Fantastic location on the edge of town but in the heart of it all! The staff couldn’t do enough for you and welcomed you into what is a beautiful building. Exquisite food, beautiful rooms and if you needed it the staff provided.

An Historic Hotel in an Ancient City
Pros:

This hotel is in the center of the pedestrian only lanes of York's walled old city. We were in time to go to Evensong in York Cathedral with its amazing acoustics. The hotel is within walking distance of the train station and also of local parks and gardens. Breakfast was delicious and the staff excellent. The room was large and very comfortable.

Lovely old hotel experience with modern amenities.
Pros:

Right in the heart of York. Delicious breakfast buffet and hot menu
Milk for tea delivered to your door every morning in a little thermos. Staff very accommodating and helpful. Took my heavy bag up to my room
Comfortable bed. Modern bath with separate shower and tub. Had a wonderful stay

Cons:

A bit noisy with beer deliveries, but it doesn't last long.

We wouldn't stay anywhere else other than this authentic, special hotel.
Pros:

The hotel is a listed building and has so much character. The rooms are all unique and the staff are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. It is high end which represents the price, but is worth every penny. The location is fabulous, right in the heart of the city centre with some rooms overlooking York Minster. Breakfast is superb and there is a wonderful bar area and outdoor seating area which is always buzzing, providing a fabulous atmosphere. A wonderful place to stay!

Cons:

Just be careful of eating the inroom snacks as they are chargeable and it would be a lovely gesture if they were complimentary, given the fact the room rates are high end.

Great friendly and comfortable hotel right in the heart of York
Pros:

Great hotel in the heart of York, stayed here a few times before but not in one of what appeared to be new rooms. Very comfortable bed and all you need, tucked at the back of the hotel though with no view.

Cons:

The room was really good but as it faced onto a small courtyard you had to keep the shutters closed and lights on for any sort of privacy. I'm not sure this particular room was worth £200 as a result.
