Would stay again, when returning to York
Pros:

Centrally located for attractions and shops.
Room was well appointed, quiet and very clean
Staff were very friendly and helpful
Food was good value and tasty
Breakfast was excellent good choice for buffet or cooked

Cons:

Room was a little on the small side, two people plus luggage would have been cosy.
Water was hot, but pressure a bit low for washing hair.
Room shutters did not block out much light a night, so room was well lit

Pros:

Lovely, friendly staff. Very clean, great showers, comfortable beds. Aga, assistant manager, was absolutely wonderful!! The location is wonderful and I cant wait to come back again. Highly recommended!!

Fantastic place, would stay again.
Pros:

The history of the building and it's location. All the staff were hard working, helpful and friendly. The buzz in the courtyard and bars was nice and the room we stayed in was spacious clean cozy and well equipped.

Cons:

The skip at the entrance but I appreciate there wasn't many options to locate such a thing.
Im not sure how I missed breakfast option when I booked but it was easily sorted once we asked.

An interesting place which could be so much better.
Pros:

Historic building in excellent location. Lovely hot water and toiletries and excellent WiFi. Breakfast very good.

Cons:

Staff were a touch offhand and, although it said in the details in the room there was a left luggage facility, it turned out to be an unprotected space under the main staircase. I chose to take the risk of leaving my bag there and when I returned walked into the hotel, collected it and walked out again without encountering anyone.
Dinner in the cellar bar was not a friendly place for a sole diner.
Signage in the complex building not good.

The reception staff were lovely, the breakfast staff were a bit rude
Pros:

Location right in the middle of York is fantastic, the room was nicely appointed and spacious, the mattress however a crucial part of the experience was tired and sagged.

Cons:

No parking nearby, long walk to the car park, luckily the weather was good.

Lovely boutique hotel.
Pros:

Lovely old building. Full of character. Bed was comfortable. Food was delicious and hot (not just warm) for Dinner & breakfast. In a vibrant area with lots going on.

Much enjoyed the stay. Parking the only problem.
Pros:

Very efficient and helpful staff. large room and excellent breakfast.

Cons:

No on site parking. Nearest car park 10 mins away. Not ideal with bags., Expensive parking too.
