They provided an excellent fan which was much needed.
It was very quiet so we slept well
Staff were not very welcoming. No information was provided about what to do with the key when we left etc. bottles of shower gel, soap etc were almost empty. The room was painted a dark green which made it look small and dingey. Window frames were rotting. Could not shut bathroom window which led to privacy issues. Frosted window but no blind and window would not close
This property did not look the best as we arrived to go up to the room around the back of the pub and up the stairs but once inside the room was clean and tidy
Scruffy to the point of entering the room coming through the back gate and up the stairs. Window sills totally rotten could do with a little tlc
Lovely big room ..close to the O2
No breakfast..but it was fine as there's a wetherspoons nearby 😃
No breakfast but that was ok, we were not hungry.
Staff very hospitable, helpful and polite.
Good location for the 02 where were visiting..
Not a perfect room, a little tired, a little dark and a little too hot in our current weather but the location, staff and the experience of a London Pub made up for the shortfalls.
Thanks to you all.
Fajna okolica, czysta pościel i ręczniki
Kurz, brak lodówki, zakurzony wentylator, który w ogóle nie pomagał
Simple accommodation, clean bedding and bathroom. Decent value for money.
The top floor rooms were unbearable in the heatwave,l and not equipped. We booked two nights but had to leave a day early.
The room was a decent size and had a comfortable bed. The pub is also really nice and the staff were friendly. There was access to a shared fridge outside of the room.
There was noise from the garden outside the pub until 2am but that could have been because of the World Cup and the later licensing.
The location was great. Tesco express and coop nearby. A very nice Italian Deli 2 doors up with fresh meats/cheeses, suppli, cannoli, made to order sandwiches and fresh coffee. Bus stop 30 second walk. Excellent for the o2 and general Greenwich area. Walking distance to the Queens house, Naval museum Cutty sark etc. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. You get 10% discount in the bar when staying over.
The heat, obviously, they dont control the weather. A fan was supplied, but it was very dirty, which is a health concern, especially in such a small space. The main light looked aesthetic but gave very little light. I emailed the day before with a question as advised, and it went un answered. I was asking if I could drop bags off as I was arriving at 11 am and check in wasnt until 3. I ended up using 'Radical storage' and leaving my bag at a laundrette up the street, which worked out fine.
Location was handy for busses to the O2
The property in general needed Cleaning, everything about it was just grubby and felt like it needed a scrub particularly the carpets in the bedrooms and the bathroom.
The only bit that was spotlessly clean was the bed linen.
No hand towels in the bathroom only one bath sheet each.
No working television.
No fridge in the bedroom
Lighting was very strange, half of them barely worked.
On a main road, so very noisy as we were in the front bedroom, obviously above a pub you expect some noise and that was fine.
The room was in direct light for most of the day. We had one 10 inch fan to try and move air around so it was like an oven.
It was up a flight of metal fire exit stairs that were quite difficult to negotiate at night.
Staff were a bit noncommittal and no one was available for us to discuss any of these issues with when we checked out because the pub wasn’t open. We waited till 11.15am and then just decided to leave the keys in the room.
Definitely wouldn’t visit again
Location is good for O2 and other sights. Reasonable price for location.
The outside temperature was 30 degrees and the room was at least 35 degrees all night. We had to keep window open to attempt to get any air which meant neighbours could see in.
Since the UK is seeing an increase in hotter weather they will need to look into managing this.
There was a layer of dust everywhere, from lamp to skirting boards, coffee caddy and tea jar.
There is also noone on site overnight.
Nimic
Foarte mizerabil, mirosea a mucegai, cazare nesigura, așternuturi patate, pete pe colacul de la baie si foarte multe probleme. Am cerut refund si nu mi s-a oferit.... Batjocoritor...
The room was just dirty they hadn't cleaned, dusted or even hoovered the carpet.
The tea caddy was covered in dust, not just a little dust but thick!
The bathroom and bed was the only clean thing in the room.
Old pub rooms that are without mod cons but worth It if you need somewhere nearby.
It was very hot when I stayed, which isn’t the pubs fault! But the fan was not really enough to do anything for the temperatures. The rooms window was closed when I arrived so it was stifling in there, and faced the road with a creaking broken pub sign right outside the window. The chain was swinging loose and banging, which wasn’t ideal for a good nights sleep.
The sheets and bed were clean though and shower all good. I’d imagine if it’s not a hot period of weather it’s not so bad!
Overall this was a good location, easy to access via bus which was a close ride to the nearest tube station. We booked it specifically for its location to Silverworks Island but this would work very well for visiting the O2 as well which is even nearer. Greenwich is generally a nice location to be in and you're on a main road with shops etc. nearby for convenience. There is rear door access to the rooms open 24/7 so once you are checked in and have a key you don't need the pub to be open to get in. They offer a 10% discount in the pub if you're staying, and all the staff we encountered on the day were very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately the room wasn't very spacious (which in itself is not a problem) but it was swelteringly hot. There was a fan provided but it was still very difficult to sleep. We kept the window open to try and help but this meant we could hear noise from the pub downstairs when trying to sleep. The bathroom was fairly clean and the bedroom was fine but I wouldn't describe it as immaculate and could have been a lot better.
I had also tried to contact the pub several times ahead of our stay, including the day before as instructed, to ask about early check in which we needed. Each time we got a canned response about requesting early check in the day before. I never got a response after asking the day before for a 3rd time so we had to just turn up at the pub when it opened at 12 and ask them. They were helpful at this stage, and were able to take our bags and let us check in later on after we returned from our event, but overall that wasn't the best experience as the lack of communication meant we were unsure what was going to happen until we got there on the day. Considering I was willing to pay the early check in fee they missed out on this.
If you're looking for a very casual and convenient place to stay on more of a budget then this room will do the job but I wouldn't say it's the most comfortable, clean, or easy night's stay we've booked in London and won't be staying here again.
