Luxurious facilities and excellent staff. The private onsen in the room was the best feature.

Since we were there for 5 days, the western breakfast felt limited whereas the Japanese breakfast (which I couldn’t partake due to my allergies) was outstanding

Pros:

i think everyone should treat themselves to a private onsen experience at least once in their lives and this hotel is perfect for it. you get peace and privacy in the hotel but you also get to enjoy the bustling area of Kawaramachi. rooms were also fully fitted with all the amenities you’d ever need! i’d definitely come back here if i have the means again (:

Pros:

清水寺や八坂の塔等の景色が望め部屋に温泉の露天風呂があり、夕食朝食共に美味しく、そこで接客してくれたインドネシア人の女性が笑顔が素適で日本語も上手くて接客もとても丁寧で素晴らしかったです。又、着物姿の方も優しい対応で好感が持てました。

別邸は専用エレベーターもあり、9階受付での対応も良かったですし、
部屋まで案内してくれた女性も色々な質問にしっかり答えてくれて良かったのですが、別邸受付の中央で座っていた50代くらいの女性はテキパキと外国人に対応されていましたが、私達に対しては笑顔や会釈も無く少々感じが悪いなと思えました。又、別邸から大浴場に行く時は近くのエレベーターだと別邸受付ロビーや一般室？の受付前を通らないといけなくて多少気が引けるとも感じました。

Pros:

Incredible stay - we opted for a room with a private onsen and it was totally worth it after long days at Nara and hiking Fushimi Inari. The staff was incredibly helpful and showed us all of the facilities including the foot bath on the roof. Location is perfect, between two train lines and we were able to easily travel to everywhere we wanted to go. Highly recommend Soraniwa Terrace to anyone traveling to Kyoto!

Exceptional
Pros:

The location is outstanding near subway station as well as buss stations. Beautiful canal behind hotel as well as centrally located for Gion, shopping and many wonderful restaurants in area. The in room open air onsen was worth the upgrade. They have a free mini bar in room as well as free happy hour on rooftop where you can soak your feet. The included breakfast was a Japanese style breakfast which was interesting to try if you haven’t before, but may not be to everyone’s taste. The staff was exceptional. There is also a coin operated washer and dryer in basement that was 300 yen wash and 100 yen for every 15 minutes of drying time.

Pros:

Everything the room, the view and the service! I been to Kyoto 5 times stayed in 7 different hotels and this is simply the best! I wish this hidden Gem continue to maintain its service but I wish that the people that come here will respect their culture and take good care of the staff and the hotel. I will be back soon:)
