The whole place is exceptional, from the staff greeting you, to the spacious room, to the wonderful hot spring, this was hands down the best hotel i’ve ever stayed in
I wish I could’ve used the public onsen, but since I have tattoos it wasn’t allowed
The staff and hotel room were exceptional. Wonderful views over Kyoto from the rooms & especially the roof top bar - dress up warm if it is chilly, or wet! There is no shelter but there are hot spring foot baths! Having a private spring fed bath directly off our bathroom - effectively on our balcony was a real luxury - facing out across the mountains you could admire the view or keep the screens closed for complete privacy.
Would have been brilliant to have room service but a small gripe with so many restaurants and shops close by.

Exquisite Onsen hotel and spa just outside old town Kyoto, impeccable staff , impeccable everything . The tasting menu with matching sake was fabulous also !!

So quiet, considering it was in the heart of Kyoto! The “guests only” side exit/entry was so convenient and just one of the many special touches. The roof terrace with the amazing view, free drinks in the evening and hot springs foot bath was another unique and wonderful amenity. The hot spring soak tub in our room was great with the same mountain view and cool air balancing the onsen. The staff were all so friendly and professional. Kaiseki breakfast was also so special!
