Bathroom (no sink). Rooms (windows are small and close to ceiling, not reachable). Step going to the rooms are too high.
The only reason we booked this "hotel" was because it was a pick-up point for our tour package. The breakfast was excellent. The room itself was neat & clean.
There was no wash basin in our room - that's like the most basic & important amenity! There was no toilet faucet either, only tissues. The bath tub was tiny & uncomfortable to use. The room itself was very tiny & congested. Both the ladies at the counters are non-English speakers as is the rest of Almaty & they were both very grumpy.
I have messed up my reservation at another hotel, so I have to stay somewhere from 3 AM until morning to check in at my hotel. I chose Bal-Meyir as it was cheap and not far from the hotel, that I originally booked. It had served its purpose.
Firstly, rooms are old, you can expect this from a cheap option like this. The staff wasn't nice about me arriving at night. I have paid for the whole night and selected on booking that I would arrive at 3 am, so don't know why they weren't happy about doing their job of checking me in.
The room was missing a blanket, so I had to run back to the check-in counter to ask for one. The room was also missing basic things that you expect from a hotel like drinking water.
The bathroom has been missing a sink, there is only a toilet and a bathtub with a shower, so cleaning your face and brushing your teeth is not convenient.
The room has only very small windows at the top, I think that it was half underground, but I am not sure.
It was a good enough stay for a few hours, but I wouldn't recommend staying for longer in this hotel.
I come with my families for traveling in Kazakhstan, and this hotel is not a good hotel. Indian don't stay here. Nothing is good here. Hotel person's behaviour is very bad. Facilities are very poor. As we booked this hotel from booking.com, so I requested to every Indian not to stay here. Even don't go with booking.com

Staff is friendly we arrived earlier and they welcomed us.At the lobby you can get some drinks.
Entrance with narrow stairs to hotel if you have small luggage you should be careful.Windows are almost at the ceiling,opening and closing is too hard.Beds are not soft you will feel springs of mattress at your back.
