Good location, poor level of staff.
Pros:

The location was very good, close to the port and close to the train station. The free re-fill water machine was very good so we really liked this.

Cons:

There was no area for guests to sit down and chill, they had a restaurant called Pamela’s on site however this clearly operated as its own separate entity. This was very misleading as we had breakfast included within our stay which was in Pamela’s. However when we wanted to sit in the bar or sofa area in the afternoon/evening we were very unwelcomed and informed we needed a reservation. They clearly prioritised members of the public over hotel guests! The staff that worked in Pamela’s were very rude and un accommodating especially when we were having breakfast. They made us feel uncomfortable asking for anything.
We had one incident whereby our room smelt of cigarette smoke due to another guest smoking in their room. We woke up in the early hours of the morning to find our room stank of smoke and our belongings also smelt of smoke because of this. We reported this to reception at around 6am, the young lady was very polite and dealt with the matter immediately however failed to provide us with any update or follow up as to what had happened and their was no apology or explanation as to why all our clothes and room stunk of smoke. When we asked to check out early because of this incident the staff were very unhelpful. On the final day the receptionist asked how are stay was and proceeded to act like she had no idea of the incident, when we informed her she made no attempt to apologise, the same member of staff who was questioning the length of our stay on numerous occasions which was very bizzare.
