Heart of Exmoor dog friendly hotel
Pros:

Very friendly, great homemade food and lots of choice. A lively bar or a quieter dining area for those who wanted it. Characterful hotel that has been updated without losing its appeal. Breakfast was very good and came quickly, which was ideal as I had a tight schedule. Dogs are welcome. The staff offer you biscuits when your pet dines with you!!

Comfy beds, but come to eat here!
Pros:

The beds were super comfy and staff super friendly, however, the highlight was the food. Every bite was delicious. Cannot recommend it enough.

Cons:

It was a little tired in places, however, the ambience and atmosphere and food mean I would come back time and time again!

It’s like going back in time, a perfect place to relax and unwind.
Pros:

It’s in a great location on the moors and has a great old fashioned pub feel in the bar then relax in the lounge with a board game not a tv in sight!

Cons:

Nothing it was fantastic!

Friendly and welcoming staff in a good old fashioned pub with comfortable rooms.
Pros:

Great location, absolutely wonderful staff, so helpful and friendly, especially with dietary needs (I am coeliac).

Cons:

The shower, not enough pressure, but the bath was perfectly adequate for our two night stay.

My stay at The Crown Hotel was excellent, featuring warm hospitality and delicious food

Had a really nice stay at The Crown Hotel, the staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to ensure I had a wonderful visit. My room was clean, bright, and spacious. After long days exploring Exmoor National Park, the comfortable bed ensured a peaceful night’s sleep. The restaurant dishes up hearty, delicious home-cooked classics using fresh ingredients. Breakfast was equally good, perfectly fuelling my morning adventure. Situated right by the village green and the River Exe, the location is unbeatable for e-biking. It is a charming country gem, and I will definitely be returning.

Pros:

I stayed with my son in separate rooms for one night only sadly. Lovely old hotel in an excellent village location, great for exploring Exmoor and the coast. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, as were the locals in the bar! The rooms were clean and spacious, the facilities very good. The food was superb. I would definitely like to stay here again, for longer hopefully.

Very enjoyable, lovely food, friendly staff, and great to sit outside and watch the horses go by.
Pros:

The Full English Breakfast was delicious, We did not need any Lunch, The Staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comfy, and handy having a shop next door. Wonderful location.All lovely.

Cons:

Nothing, it was all marvelous.

great and relaxing stay well worth the money and such a lovely place to have a break top marks.
Pros:

the charm of the period property and the village location was so nice it was very clean the room was much bigger than other places we have stayed it was clean and comfortable, the staff where very pleasant and helpful, the evening meals where great and the breakfast was superb all in all we highly recommend the crown hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again, thank you.
