Très bel endroit. Des prestations perceptibles
Pros:

Décoration haut de gamme . Ambiance boutique/hotel digne d’un magazine de déco . Propreté des lieux . Goût du détail. Très bonne cuisine . Bon service . Très jolie chambre. Ambiance zen et healthy.

Cons:

Des horaires de service limités . Impossible d’avoir un café ou un thé avant 7h30 en semaine et même 8h le dimanche (?). Comme il n’y a pas de bouilloire dans la chambre, cela peut être déplaisant . D’autant plus que dîner après 20h pose un gros souci pour le personnel. Quand on se couche tôt, on se réveille tôt !!
Rien n’est prévu pour les quelques personnes qui fument encore ( les pauvres) ils sont bannis à fumer à proximité du parking debout . Il y aurait largement la place de leur organiser un tout petit espace un peu plus convivial sans que cela ne dérange personne .
Les petits déjeuners ne sont pas inclus , ce qui est extrêmement rare au Sri Lanka.
On entend l’océan, mais on ne la voit pas. Il faut faire 100 mètres pour être sur une magnifique petite plage de pêcheurs , où vous pouvez prendre un petit café le matin ou un lassi en fin d’après-midi dans un petit hôtel /resto tout simple qui lui a un petit emplacement directement sur le sable . Les hôteliers sont adorables et le spot est incroyable pour assister au va et vient des bateaux .

Beautiful, serene Boutiquehotel
Pros:

Beautifully decorated Boutique resort (even more beautiful than the pictures), super nice staff and manager. Most of the local community was very welcoming when we walked around the neighbourhood. Really good food.

Cons:

We stayed two nights and our room has not been cleaned nor our towels have been changed even though the humidity is really high and thus towels don’t dry overnight. I know we could have asked for this but we simply forgot. However, I think for this price, it should be normal. Also, keep in mind that the hotel is in the middle of nowhere. As a female, I would not go to the local beach in front of the hotel on my own, as I was verbally harassed by some fishermen when I did so. Not the hotels fault, however!

Pros:

Het is een stukje paradijs in Sri Lanka, wel ver weg van de toeristische trekpleister stranden zoals Galle (anderhalf uur rijden met de TukTuk), Mirissa en Hiriketiya (klein uur rijden met de TukTuk), dus indien dat je reisdoelen zijn, boek je beter dichterbij. Maar voor ons, absoluut goddelijk. Je zit op het uiterst zuidelijke punt van Sri Lanka, genaamd Dondra. Een afgesloten paradijsje, gescheiden van de rest van de hotels door heerlijk veel groen. Ongelooflijk dicht bij een klein strandje en andere prachtige stranden zoals Matara en Dikwella (waar we snorkelden met zeeschildpadden) een heerlijke vakantievibe met lekker en gezond eten. Ik wist niet dat het ontbijt niet inbegrepen was, maar het was op en top verzorgd, net als de andere maaltijden die we nuttigden in het resort. En hun koffies… daar droom ik nu nog van, hemels. Conclusie; een luxe oase van rust, zon en puur genieten. Ik leer onmiddellijk terug als ik kon.

Pros:

Super cool relaxed property. Excellent food and staff. Very nice room.

Cons:

For us the hotel felt isolated with nothing in the immediate vicinity. Tuktuks needed to get anywhere. Near the sea but not a beach property.

Luxury oasis, great food, wonderful staff
Pros:

The Nook perches quietly as a singular luxury above the impersonal chain hotels and “rustic” options of the South Coast. Their staff offer a subdued yet confidant service with a Sri Lankan hospitality that leads with a warm smile. Special mention to Mandy for their attention to details. A few highlights: (bizarrely) no mosquitos at night, a widely varied menu executed perfectly by kitchen and wait staff, and a wonderfully secluded property with peaceful and serene pool area. (GREAT barista-quality/third-wave coffee). The local beach is a 20 second walk from the front gates, adorned with working fishing boats and nestled into a stunning tropical bay. The Nook boasts an army of Tuk tuks at the ready to take you to a large swimming/sun tanning beach if this is your preference. (Ask for Talalla).

A piece of Paradise
Pros:

This accomodation is a little gem. It's nestled amongst the exotic coast line of southern Sri Lanka. The room and pool were excellent.

Cons:

The restaurant/bar area could have stayed open a little longer as the staff were ready to leave at 9pm

Beautiful hotel with phenomenal food!
Pros:

We had an amazing stay at the Nook and would absolutely come again! The hotel, rooms and common spaces are beautifully designed. The standout for us was the incredible food options in the restaurant - really amongst the best food we ate in Sri Lanka. The staff are wonderful and we had a chance to meet the lovely owners during our stay. It’s clear that a lot of love has gone into the Nook and this makes for a lovely holidaying experience.

Cons:

There were intermittent power cuts but these resolved quickly (within ~2 mins)

Not an issue but could consider implementing a more formal check out process, similar to what is done when checking in.

Secluded jungle paradise
Pros:

Everything! The nook’s design is respectful of its surroundings, intimate and just stunning! Located in a local village with barely any tourism makes it even more special. The staff were very kind and professional, the food was delicious! 10/10 if you are looking for a tranquil gem on Sri Lanka’s south coast. 10-30 minute tuk tuk ride away all the towns you might want to visit!

FABULOUS. Just fabulous!
Pros:

Steph and the rest of the team made our stay very relaxing and easy. Great service, good local recommendations, arranging travel.

The food was amazing - consistently delicious. Breakfast pancakes are a daily “must”. Everything was very fresh beautifully presented.

It’s pretty close to the surrounding beaches and towns - about 20 mins via Tuk tuk. The pictures do not do this place justice. We stayed an extra two nights as we loved it so much.

Cons:

We stayed for 6 nights so tried pretty much everything on the menu. A few daily specials or dish rotations is about the only suggestion we could make.
