A short tuc tuc away from the more lively lovely unawatana street to beach one way and anhangma the other. Next to the amazing beach front restaurant shanti shanti. 40 mins from beautiful Mirissa and 15 minutes from Galle. Loved the amazing sea view from room and sound of the sea. Perfect stay. Great breakfast.

Nice welcoming in the beginning, the only thing before nightmare started. Nice view from the balcony which is only worth a picture
worms in the food. Are they cooking the rice and keeping it for weeks to serve it to the guests? The hotel is kind of new but there are already bugs (not bed bugs) in the bed? Cacaroach inside the room? 3 days stay and 1.5 days no electricity, such hotel needs a generator?! This hotel wants quite a lot of money but no service for it? I payed for what finally? To just have a bed? We didn’t eat there anymore at all which us understandble (free breakfast didn’t use) All this issues but no one is taking responsability for it? Manager is smiling with everyone but doesnt feel responsible for anything? Just to make fake impression that the hotel is professionel? I hope there are no more people got food poisining there as I am sure that they won’t throw their fish and meats aways after hours without electric. There is not too much choice around to eat somwhere else and if so than only expensive and not delicious, needs to go to Unawatuna each time. Please if you read this review don’t book this hotel! Not worth it! A holiday is suppose to be relaxing and nice and this hotel is definetly going to break your mood for your holiday
The room is so spacious including the comfy bed. Beach front hotel where the beach is so stunning.
The room did not have a tv and that was a drawback for me! Otherwise wonderful stay but a bit overpriced
I recently stayed at this hotel and had a pleasant experience overall. The staff were exceptionally kind and always greeted me with a smile, which made me feel very welcome throughout my stay.
The room was comfortable and cleaned daily, with the air conditioning providing much-needed relief. Breakfast was delicious and had plenty of variety, served by a team that genuinely cared about making guests happy.
Overall, I appreciated the effort the hotel staff put into ensuring a good stay. I’d definitely return, especially to see the enhancements they plan to make in the future.

spectacular view from the room to the ocean 🌊 and sound of the ocean it’s incredible that’s will stay with me , I enjoy it so much . location so perfect, it’s out from crowd , not so many people, you can always drive to the center 7/10 min but if you going to Sri Lanka to Enjoy ocean 🌊 and Nature this hotel is perfect, I think. Staff at the hotel , so attentive and caring they were doing everything for me , to enjoy my stay with them . I appreciate and grateful to them . I really relaxed and enjoyed my stay at The Beach Talpe hotel , I’d wish to come back here.

From the receptionist, the cleaners, the cooks, the wait-staff to the security person. It was a warm & friendly place.

I have no complaints!
The Beach Talpe was the perfect escape. We stayed in a side sea view room on the first floor, with windows offering partial ocean views and a cozy, relaxing vibe. The staff’s warm hospitality stood out, and they went above and beyond to make our stay special, including arranging a memorable seafood dinner by the beach. The fresh, flavorful Sri Lankan dishes were a highlight. The serene location and personal touches made it a getaway to remember. We will return for more

We stayed here with our 2 kids, who are under 10 years old. The pool is small but very clean, and the staff offered some pool toys and kickboards for the kids, which was nice. The beach is beautiful and we had lots of fun in the ocean. The food portions are generous, and the kitchen was happy to make the kids' favorite fish and chips every day. There are turtle hatcheries nearby for the kids and the Galle Fort is fun to explore with kids too but make sure to take a sun hat and sunscreen. Our room had 2 air cons so we were very comfortable. The hotel is basic but clean and the staff are really kind and friendly.
Arrived 31 December after a long drive. Arrived to an absolutely wonderful reception from Prabu and other hotel staff
The only recommendation i would make is to make the rooms soundproof as the noise of the waves is a little unsettling
The breakfast was plentiful and the service was friendly with smiling staff

We complained to management as did many other people. We were offered a free dinner. On leaving I asked for a discount and they granted 10% reduced.
The staff were all lovely and kind
The garden was non existent - consisted of a pile of rubbish that was not screened off
There were several timber outdoor chairs and lounges but they lacked a softening cushion and no umbrellas so had to be in full sun
The pool was beside an old and dirty wall - not able to sit or lie around the pool area
The outdoor dining area was all concrete with pedestal fans and not a single pot plant for beautification
The shower in bathroom was broken and water trickled out from 3 points - the tap, the hand held shower and the overhead shower but all 3 at same time so only a trickle.
They should not continue to advertise as 5* as they told us they have received many complaints and acknowledged that it was misleading guests expectations
