Beautiful building and grounds, disappointing food, room and beds,
Pros:

Pleasant staff, beautiful building (exterior in particular), lovely grounds, good parking and very handy for an event at Strathpeffer pavilion.

Cons:

The room was pokey and stuffy, and badly in need of refurbishment - even though we paid extra for a ‘superior’ room.The beds were uncomfortable, and the large and imposing restaurant offered very little choice and ordinary, bordering on institutional, food (in spite of claims to offering à la carte dining) - the hotel mainly caters to touring coach parties.

Pros:

This hotel is exceptional. The staff, the location and the rooms were perfect. The building itself is absolutely stunning. I would highly recommend anyone to stay there. We can't wait to come back here

Pros:

Tout était parfait, le lieu était incroyable, très confortable et très propre. Convenient for NC500
Pros:

First night of a NC500 trip. Hotel is a victorian pile; upper floors the usual maze of hallways and stairs. Room was comfortable and well maintained. Extra points for having a proper bath; a few lost for having a shower that you cannot unhook. Breakfast OK. Location excellent; you can leave at the side gate and go for a lovely walk up Cnoc Mor through the woods.

Cons:

Dinner was not cheap and not that good. My companion suggests that you avoid the salmon.

Nice hotel
Pros:

Had a family room with a large double and two single beds. Room was a good size, everything was clean and comfortable and the staff were really friendly. Bar is massive and drinks are reasonably priced. Location is great!

Cons:

Minor points only, TV was in an awkward place for us to watch as a family and could have done with a small table in the room since there's plenty of space.

A lovely treat
Pros:

The best thing was the warm welcome from Nora on the desk. She was so friendly and helpful. The super king bedroom was simply but tastefully decorated and situated at the front pf the house with lovely open Views of garden and hillside. Although some aspects are a little faded inside it’s a grand house and kept immaculately clean by conscientious staff.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was average. Lovely looking building and in great setting.

Cons:

I booked a room with view of garden. What we got was view of cars in the car park to the front of the hotel. The bed was uncomfortable; pillows were ‘solid’. For the money, the room was small (just like staying in an average B&B). Worse part was that from 5am the sound of all waste water from rooms above was very noticeable..sounded like it was coming through our room.
