I didn't like anything about this property.
Do NOT stay here! Most of these positive reviews are from the host bribing guests for good ratings.
I didn't feel safe during my stay b/c there were chaotic, drunk guests (and possibly people not actually staying there) partying and shouting throughout the building all night long where sometimes they mistakenly tried to enter my room.
There is no hotel staff to help in person, and no one answers the hotline for assistance so you have to fend for yourself there. Dear God!
I like the facilities offered because it is rare and unique, a nice touch to the overall experience. There's a game room with pool tables, ping pong tables, vintage classic arcade machines, mini basketball hoop game, and more. Then I was delighted to find out about the rooftop section, with aesthetic lights, comfortable seating, a smoking area, music player, giving off a cozy vibe. The room was nice and comfortable, with a modern Roku TV that I can watch YouTube and Hulu on. Great place for the price in my opinion.
The early checkout and late check in, with a high price of $25 per hour extra to either come in early or check out later. The main reason I mention this is because I had a change of plans occur last second and I paid for late checkout 3 times seperately on the morning of my final day. I was awaiting confirmation from a friend before I decided to leave, or potentially extend my reservation another day or two. After finally getting my confirmation at 12:30, I already paid about $70 to stay 2.5 hours late checkout and I asked for the rate of another night. The front desk guy said $120, so I wanted to pay $50 since I already paid $70 for the late fees. However , they refused to count this money spent for 2-3 hours of stay and required me to pay an entire $120 price seperately in order to get another night. That definitely felt like a ripoff and inconsiderate customer service.
If you have a surgery the next morning at Staten Island Hospital, as I had, then this is a good location for you.
I rent a studio room, which was pretty small, but it had a fridge, TV, and microwave, which is a big plus. The bathroom was nice. The guy at reception was polite and helpful, but he wasn't there all the time.
Well, the studio didn't look like the pictures; it was pretty small, and it doesn't deserve the price I paid for 2 nights. A lot of someone else's hair all around, even on clean towels and in the bathtub. The mattress was super uncomfortable. The building itself is very old and filthy, smells old and weird. I had another room right by mine, so I could hear that person watching TV late at night and all the steps, etc.
The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was nicely updated.
There was no hot water to take a shower. The coffee maker was broken
Location was great for our needs, bed was really comfy, I imagine some people would like the games room too, and the heater was also really effective and warmed the room up really quickly which was nice.
I didn't know there was free Wi-Fi, as no one actually told us anything when we arrived. The front staff person on most evenings didn't really acknowledge our existence when we came and went. The towels are scruffy and the size of a postage stamp (I literally have nicer towels for washing my dog), there were large stains on one of the headboards, and both bed covers had small stain marks on them. You can feel your feet sticking to the floor in the hallway when you walk to the room, the blinds were broken in numerous places, there was no bathmat so the tile floor got drenched and slippery after showering, and the smell when you enter is really overpowering. It's a strong fake-chemical type fragrance which definitely has to be somewhere on a list of known carcinogens! It's nice they try and make it smell nice, but it's just way too overpowering.
This is my favorite spot in Brooklyn to stay at it’s so cozy
They didn’t have any utensils
Good
The location, and price
They lied in the description of the room. It was supposed to be a 224sq ft queen deluxe suite. I was given a small 124sq ft dirty room that did not match the photos they used to depict the room I reserved.
It was also full of loud disruptive customers that appeared to live there full time. The bed was stained, the towels were also stained and smelled unclean.
