Would definitely return, it was a unique and charming place!
Pros:

So much open air space. It’s historic and beautiful. The staff were outstanding, the breakfast buffet was wonderful. The pool was gorgeous and enjoyable and there were many enjoyable common spaces to sit and relax.

Cons:

The rooms were a bit mildew/musty smelling upon arrival and it was necessary to keep the air conditioning on strong to prevent this smell from reappearing, however, understandable this is a difficult climate to battle musty smells in hotel rooms. I think the curtains in the rooms need to be replaced or laundered and this would help with the smell.

Pros:

The restaurant service and breakfast was excellent. The hotel building is so beautiful, very Yogyakarta.

Cons:

The room needs maintenance. Cups for coffee in the room were dusty, jug was old. Sheets, pillow case weren't clean.

Terrific place to stay in Yogyakarta
Pros:

This is a wonderful hotel - the location is perfect and the facilities were terrific. We loved the swimming pool and the staff were amazing.
The restaurant had lots of nice areas to sit and the staff could not have been more helpful.

Cons:

This hotel is just great - we liked everything about it.

Fantastic heritage hotel with amazing staff
Pros:

The best hotel we stayed at in our trip to Malaysia and Indonesia.
Beautiful heritage building with fantastic outdoor areas.
Spacious comfortable rooms.
Amazing staff who were always there to help
Fabulous breakfast buffet with wide range of western and Indonesian foods
Good range of trips to UNESCO sites a reasonable price

Pros:

I loved the property. It felt safe and welcoming. The pool is great. The water temperature was always comfortable even when the sun wasn't shinning. And it was so clean. From the room to the pool to the restaurant and the gym. And I cannot complement the staff enough. Everyone is always ready to help and genuinely kind. Ghita especially, she went above and beyond. Thank you for a lovely stay.

It was ok
Pros:

We liked….the friendly reception

Cons:

It was a bit oversold. We really didn’t like the prostitution sign in the breakfast area, felt that could have been better dealt with. The pool is good but overlooked if you like some privacy when in a bathing suit. We upgraded to a suite - it was ok, slept on the extra bed which was about 30 years old so not exactly luxurious. Food was ok. Staff were ok. Decor was ok. It was ok.

Tepid food instead of hot!
Pros:

Lovely choice of breakfast with added live ethnic sooting music! Very helpful staff.

Cons:

The bathroom floor kept flooding from underneath the floor tiling! Each time you want to use the toilet, you'd get wet feet. Towels laid down would get soaked.
Food in the restaurant would arrive Luke warm rather than hot. Fish & chips was sent back to the kitchen as it looked undercooked and not hot enough. My creme brulee dessert sent back as not enough crispy topping which ended up ruined as they overdid it afterwards.
Room lighting was very dim.

Verblijf was prima en ondanks achterstallig onderhoud toch een aanrader.
Pros:

Mooi hotel , lekker zwembad en goed van eten en drinken . Kamer was mooi maar wat krap. Eetzaal was ruim en gezellig.

Cons:

De kamer mocht wel een opfrisbeurt hebben en misschien iets moderner. Was wel wat oudbollig en achterstallig onderhoud.

Prachtig en zeer comfortabel hotel.
Pros:

Mooi gebouw, echt heerlijk bed en waanzinnig goed en ongelofelijk uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet! Verder een fijn zwembad (zonder muziek) en een fijne en rustige sfeer. Mogelijk om binnen in de airco of buiten op het terras te eten.

Attractive and comfortable hotel
Pros:

It’s a very attractive building, well located and with comfortable rooms. The staff are excellent. Live musical accompaniment to breakfast and dinner.

Cons:

The food quality was good but not quite as good as similar quality hotels in Java.
