Charming hotel and great location
Pros:

Charming hotel from the early 1900’s. Loved that the pool was set in the back, giving guests privacy and relaxation. All of the staff were welcoming and kind at all times. Linens were superb.

Cons:

Our first room was musty and they had sprayed it with a lot of chemical perfume I think to mask the smell, but it didn’t work. My guess is because the air condition had not been running for some time. The hotel was gracious enough to change our rooms and allowed us to view two rooms before moving us. In some ways the smells were the same, but not as intense. By time the air kept running the damp smell dissipated. This is our only complaint, but had the musty smell not gone away, I would not stay here again. Our friends room had the same issue. Overall, we loved the hotel, the food, the staff, the location.

Historisch, mooi comfortabel verblijf
Pros:

- Goede locatie: het hotel ligt rustig, maar Malioboro Street is binnen ongeveer 15 minuten lopen bereikbaar.
- Prachtig historisch hotel met een mooi en sfeervol interieur.
- Comfortabele bedden en fijne kamers.
- Uitgebreide ontbijt selectiekeus; leuke diner Thema’s
- in het restaurant elke dag live een gamelan musicians.

Cons:

- Stopcontacten naast het bed waren wat schaars; opladen werd een kleine logistieke uitdaging.
- De roomservice zorgde voor een verrassingsmenu: in plaats van pisang goreng met vanille-ijs en fruitcocktail kregen we pisang goreng met geraspte kaas. Na een belletje werd het ijs alsnog nagebracht, maar het was even schakelen want we kregen NIET wat we bestelden.
- De gym liet wat te wensen over: van de vijf apparaten waren er drie buiten gebruik.
- het Zwembad was niet erg uitnodigend ( groen)
- voor mij althans mag het eten iets minder zout.

World-class service all around. Luxury with historic vibes.
Pros:

We had a bad experience at another hotel earlier that night. We decided to leave that hotel and try this one. From the minute we walked through the door, we knew we made the right decision. World-class service all around. They even offered us a free upgrade. We then happily decided to extend our stay to more than one night.

Cons:

It's a long walk from the lobby to the room, but that becomes part of the charm.

Pros:

It was a good central location for Yogyakarta. The room was spacious, and had a lovely balcony over the pool. We had breakfast on our last day, which had good options.

Needs a new bathroom!
Pros:

The room was good size and staff always willing to help. Shower provided a good water pressure with lovely hot water.
The bed was super comfortable.

Cons:

Waste shower water leaked into and under the main bathroom tiles creating puddles near the toilet! It left the floor soaking and your feet wet each time you'd use the toilet.
We found the AC noisy. Couldn't sleep at night with the AC ON!

I like the hotel, it's classic, the hotel staff are friendly and I miss the local food.
Pros:

I couldn't explore more the hotel, because it was busy. I was there during long weekend new year. But to be honest I like the vibe and close with Jogjakarta city. Thanks for the services

Cons:

I couldn't extend my stay due to time constraints. And while I was having dinner at the fountain, I was bitten by a mosquito.
