The suites have a good kitchen with larger fridge, pots, dishes, etc.
The room has lots of ambient lighting options. There are some positive changes since being bought by marriot... new big bottle of water in the fridge when you check in plus 2 small bottles in the bedroom, toothpaste, dish soap & dish sponge. The cleaning staff is very friendly and helpful.
We've been stay atleast 20-40 days a year at this city express for work (plus other locations), under my husband's gold status, because in the past we liked the space, kitchen, soft beds, good coffee, fruit, and allowing our small medical service dog.
But Since being bought by Marriott...
Bad...
The beds are as hard as the floor (we even tried moving rooms).
The hotel now uses some strong lemon chemical spray all over the carpet to make the room smell clean (instead of shampooing the dirty carpets)...this spray gave us migraines.
They got rid of their awesome coffee... The new coffee tastes a bit like vomit.
When we asked to switch rooms for a softer bed, they gave us a room with an equally hard bed and where the original toilet seat was replaced with one that was smaller than the toilet... Forcing you to sit on the soiled rim underneath. They denied this and said it's the same as other rooms.
And they said they will no longer allow (genuine, documented, trained) medical service dogs.
And all that at double the price of nearby hotels.
We have spent a LOT of money at city express over the last decade as our preferred choice for business travel. We have stayed at this location atleast 3 weeks total this year. But I'm not sure we will be using city express anymore. It has changed since they started changing to Marriott.. And mostly in bad ways. We might take our business elsewhere after this experience.
