The hotel's location and charm are first class.
I have stayed at the hotel before, and the breakfast is excellent (if a bit on the expensive side).
Given the hot London summer, the in-room air conditioning unit was a real bonus.
The gardens are beautiful
It was weird that you were not allowed to sit on the hotel terrace before 12 noon. A few times we wanted to have a morning coffee on the outdoor terrace but were told that it was only open from 12 noon onwards. Annoying and weird!
Breakfast is quite expensive compared to other hotels. As a result, we went to different places for breakfast in Wimbledon Village.
Felt like a country estate
Great location and setting - restaurant very good
I felt it was looking a bit tired and in need of some refurb - the bar smelled like an old pub and my room had alot of cobwebs and some damage
Breakfast was very good with a lovely view across to the park; our room was spacious and comfortable and the staff that we met were very pleasant. The location was ideal for the activities that we had planned and you have plenty of choice for local walks in the park, on the common or across to Wimbledon village.
There was some kind of mix up about servicing the room in the middle of our two night stay, as we were given fresh towels, water, etc but the room was not made up and the old laundry left in the bathroom. The kettle failed on the second evening, but fortunately the bar was still open and provided us with boiling water.
Beautiful hotel. Great restaurant and bar. Superb staff.
No complaints.

Complexity in getting two suites (previously booked), on the first floor (one not available at short notice, but I had explained that there were medical reasons for our choices on the first floor, rather than the second, in an email to your previous reception manager, Alex, and he had promised to note it!)
Check-in and check out seemed slow and unnecessarily complicated.
Service in the restaurant, both at dinner and breakfast, was way too slow.
The machine coffee at breakfast was horrible, both in strength and flavour. I would have expected better from a 5-star restaurant. Also, the breakfast options could be better - you could include fresh fruit and natural, unsweetened yohgurts by themselves, rather than put into pots, where three was also sweet cereal. This looks attractive, but is way too sweet! As are the fruit youghurts.

Stayed here a few times and love the position, and the quality of the hotel, although the recent and ongoing drought has made the Common look like an African Savannah!
Nothing, although the breakfast was a bit of a cock up, even though it wasn’t that busy.
A paucity of cups for the tea and coffee was rectified, but we seemed to be invisible sitting in the window area and had to actually ask for service.
When our order was taken, the staff had to return to confirm what eggs I wanted, and when the breakfast arrived, the poached eggs on the avocado on sourdough had been replaced with fried eggs (my order with the full English) and no side of beans with mine , as specifically requested when ordered.
Small things, but at the prices charged by this hotel, you would expect better.
Really comfortable bed, great air conditioning, very clean bathroom, great shower, very good breakfast, pleasant staff.
Nothing, although for one night it was on the pricey side. Overall an excellent hotel though.
