Room was beautiful and well designed and decorated. Staff were very friendly.
The room i booked on booking.com said it had a private pool, but our room didnt have this. We didn’t raise this at the time but were expecting the room to reflect the photos of the room i had booked.

Amazing stay here, staff were all very friendly and attentive (especially JB). Stored our luggage as we arrived early and allowed us to freshen up ready for lunch before the room was ready. Hotel and room were exceptional. Walking distance to restaurants, shops and wine tram station. Lots of vineyards were an easy uber drive away too. Staff offered some great restaurant recommendations too. Breakfast was also a nice addition. Would definitely recommend staying here whilst in Franschhoek.

Great location, beautiful old building, good pool area, good breakfast.
We had booked a superior pool room particularly because we wanted our own pool as a birthday treat but were given a superior deluxe room on arrival as it was the only room left (room 9), a loft room without a private pool. Our stay was then severely disrupted by animals clearly living in the roof which you could hear running about all day and throughout the night when trying to sleep.
We raised this with the staff on reception and asked to move rooms but were told in the morning it wasn't possible to move as the hotel was full (but that they had had the same complaint before and tried to close a hole in the roof previously). When the noise continued we raised again in the evening we were told by a different staff member we would have been able to move if we'd raised earlier in the day! The reception staff also did very little to deal with our complaint, we were told one of them would be ringing the manager and asking maintenance to take a look, but heard nothing after this. We understand the people in the room before us had moved out the night before because of the noise of the squirrels - this is clearly an issue the hotel is aware of yet they continue to overbook the hotel / use that room. It would have been polite to have been warned. Avoid room 9!
