The hotel has a great location and has a beautiful aspect on the Ganges. One of the only hotels that look out over the river and is authentic but modern
The staff were sullen, unhelpful, untrained and disorganized. Very unusual in this kind of Property and in India!
Location but better options r also available
Over priced
Over hipped
Nothing was good
Rooms r small n bad
Location
Price vs quality of property maintenance does not match
Location is great.. Food is also great
I went in August Monsoon season. I had asked the hotel and they said that it was ok the river was going down.. a good hotel would have said or recommended to visit at a later stage.. Its rained and it was not enjoyable. When I asked if the could refund 2 out of the 5 nights they refused.. Im bnoever going back.. Lack of information.. I could have done something else.
We booked a superior room. To reach the hotel you need to take a boat transfer. This didn’t work and we were left waiting in the dark in a shady area. The person who tried to manage the situation was tense und little welcoming. Nobody informed us what the problem was.
Finally after checking into the hotel, we were given a room with molding areas. In front of the windows were arabesque stone grids that felt like prison bars.
After complaining, we were upgraded to a beautiful rim on the top floor, which was very pleasant.
Bad reception, don’t book a superior room, it might be low level humid and overpriced.

The location of this hotel is phenomenal. One of the highlights of our trip was arriving by boat, along the Ganges, to the steps of this hotel. The staff was so welcoming and warm and made sure we were taken care of. They even accommodated our early arrival, allowing us to enjoy a nice breakfast at the restaurant before taking us to our room early. The building itself is beautiful and historic, and decorated tastefully. Our room was also exceptional - it had a lovely view of the river, the room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom was well appointed. After a long day of wandering Varanasi, it was heavenly to come back to the hotel and have high tea on the terrace. Dinner was delicious as well. By far one of the nicest stays we experienced in India.
The only minor issue we had, was that the woman behind the front desk when we first arrived was so lovely, she set the bar high for our expectations. The man behind the desk in the evening was not as warm.
Fabulous building Fuller character in a great location with excellent staff
Nothing
the view was amazing right on a ghat on the Ganges and having a fleet of boats to take you into town - at a cost- was special
Where to start!! really small rooms that you have to climb over each other to get to the bathroom, buffet breakfast was tired and really ordinary - menu service would have been a better option and more standard in India - you need to pay for water - the complimentary bar is soft drink only and only for one day - the location also is a real problem - hence boats - you can't get in or out of the place without a 15min walk. Next time i would stay around Assi Ghat
Staff are very good with service . Location is the best.
There are a little bit hard to access to the hotel.
The staff were very helpful, polite, and tried their best to assist whenever needed.
It was a quiet place to retreat from the intensity and constant activity of Varanasi.
- The cleanliness of the hotel was poor, it looked superficially clean but there was clear built-up grime both in the room and in the public areas. There was a distinct lack of care or attention to detail.
-The whole property felt tired and not well maintained.
-The downstairs restaurant was extremely strange: it mostly served western fried food like pizzas, chips, and sandwiches, and the sandwiches we tried were not edible.
-For a hotel priced at over £200 per night, it did not feel like good value for money.
Très bel établissement, au cœur de la vieille ville. Très bon accueil.
Un peu cher quand même, mais pas d'équivalent dans les environs.
