We were very well looked after.
Dave the owner is a lovely friendly hard working person who is dedicated in providing the best service possible..and he succeeds. This hotel is spotless and very comfortable i would reccomend this hotel to all and would definatly stay again.
Nothing
Location, the people, the food, the room absolutely loved our stay
Didn't book longer
Dave, Roger & his team made us so welcome, they went above & beyond to make our stay fantastic. We honestly felt like part of their family.
Everything was just great, no complaints from us.
We loved the rural location of this property and it was close enough for us to finish our Hadrians Wall walk. The staff were very welcoming (particularly Dave) and we felt right at home. The breakfast was superb and well worth the £10 I paid for it. I would be happy to stay here again.
Nothing, I didn't have any issues with this accommodation.
David, the manager, was an excellent host, and Ross and staff were very friendly, we had sunday dinner, and it was amazing. We will be going back again.
There was nothing that we didn't like and would recommend it to anybody.
Great breakfast, comfy bed, excellent wifi and TV, in old officers mess. only 4 rooms
restaurant only open weds & sunday I believe but good pub 3 miles up the road. walls a bit thin so sound travels.
I attended a large family reunion function that was held at the hotel, and booked to stay overnight.
The hotel has an excellent function room, and were very accommodating. The owner is passionate about providing excellent customer service and was very friendly and helpful. I booked in to stay the evening, there is only a few bedrooms but they are very comfortable. We went to a local pub for dinner in the evening, which was also excellent. The White Heather is particularly unique because it is at the end of the Kirkbride Airfield Runway- so if you have a PPL and you ned to refuel, you could literally park your plane in the carpark and stay over. -Calling he owner of the hotel in advance would be of great benefit- he is very accommodating and would (no doubt) go out of his way to make your stay one to remember.
Nothing. It was ideal for what we needed. Be aware, it is set in a quiet location- don't expect amazing nightlife.
Unique setting. Warm welcome from the owner. Comfortable, clean room.
Excellent hotel on edge of small airfield. View of light aircraft and WW2 hangers from this lovely historic building. Room was a good size with an exceptional spacious bathroom, and we had the best sleep of our holiday in the very comfortable bed. Quiet location yet only short drive from shops. Friendly family hotel which made us feel very welcome. Plenty of choice in the bar and a lovely breakfast too. We will definitely stay here again.
The room was very comfortable indeed with a good mattress and comfy pillows. The bathroom had been recently refurbished and was impeccable. I had a very good sleep.
Dave the host did his utmost to make my stay enjoyable. This hotel is ideally located for flying activities at Kirkbride Airfield.
The Hotel was in an idyllic location, Dave was the perfect host, nothing was too much trouble, he went above and beyond for us, the hotel was clean and the rooms were clean, they had everything you could need, comfy beds, on suite, tea and coffee facilities, wifi, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
We have just got back from a 4 night stay at The White Heather and it was absolutely fabulous. The room was spacious which was great as there was plenty of room for our dogs bed. The bathroom was a decent size and the shower was lovely. The facilities in the room are great a nice size TV and plenty of tea coffee and milk and every where was spotless. Breakfast was nice with cereal and as much toast and tea/coffee as you want. You can also get a full English which was massive and would definitely see you through the day. The hotel restaurant is open Wednesday and Sunday for lunch. We had the duo roast which came with all the trimmings and loads of veg. This was followed by the dessert trolley that was heaving with so many different desserts all of which looked yummy. All this with tea or coffee for £16.50 excellent value. Dave along with his family and all of the staff couldn’t do enough for us and our doggie. They all made our stay even better and our dog was definitely spoiled. We will definitely be back
The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. I was the only person. The car park was totally empty
Perfect, peaceful location. David made us feel totally at home. Place was spotlessly clean and totally comfortable. Can't fault anything about the place. Will definitely be back.
I just had the basic breakfast which was absolutely fine and good value.
The White Heather Hotel was just perfect for us. A friendly welcome, comfortable accommodation and nothing was too much trouble for the owner, Dave.
The unique and quirky location on a former WW2 airfield just added to the experience and made for a great stay.
Breakfast of toast & cereal with tea and coffee was included in our booking with a fulsome cooked breakfast available for an extra £10 if you fancy something more substantial.
The only downside was the fact that the hotel’s restaurant is only open on a few days each week meaning we had to head out to nearby Wigton to find something for an evening meal (try the excellent Shuhag Indian Flavours, you won’t be disappointed).
