L'hôtel est très chic... moi qui adore faire les brocantes, là c'était le top de tout regarder, les objets que l'hôtesse avait dénichés et mis en valeur... Petit déjeuner au top avec de bons croissants et petits pains... il ne manquait rien !! Dîner devant la cheminée au chaud... grande chambre avec salle de bain et WC indépendants, on y a bien dormi... parfait

Pros:

I didn’t expect The Ritz but it was warm and comfortable ; and extremely clean . The dining room was well laid out wiih a super open fire . The cooking was very good indeed !
My welcome was friendly and , because I was travelling onwards through Spain to Portugal , the location close to the motorways was very convenient .
Would I stay there again ? Absolutely ! I was disappointed that I was unable to book a room for my return journey at the end of this month ! But hope to be able when I return to Portugal in May .

Food was excellent in restaurant. Room was big, bed comfortable.

Cons:

We were not aware reception was closed between 15.00 - 18.00 each day, so on arrival I found our key left in a pigeon hole in the hallway. However everywhere else was locked so we couldn't use the lounge, get a drink or coffee. Our room only had half a roll of toilet paper, 1 bath towel and 2 hand towels only between us plus no bath plug. I messaged Marina who promptly did bring up supplies. Room not very soundproofed, we could hear people chatting in the next room. Bit disappointed, paintwork could do with a good freshen up.

Short stay during big travel
Pros:

Very charming hotel in a centuries old building. Easy to find in the village center, not far away from the motorway. The building, albeit very old, is well maintained, charming and cozy. The lady who served us – I assume she is the owner – was very friendly and helpful. The room was quite large, very clean, well heated (we traveled in Winter) and comfortable.

Cons:

Sound proofing… but I suppose it's not possible to do better in such an old building.
