Authentic afrikaans accommodation with putstanding hospitality and super friendly host and helpers.
Pros:

We were super happy with the location and the hospitality. If you want to get an authentic afrikaans boer experience, de opstal is the place to go. The host welcomed us warmly and even helped us create a special birthday for one of the guys. All in all, very enjoyable stay and surely won‘t be the last one!

Cons:

Nothing really, the value and experience that a customer gets is extraordinary and absolutely worth it.

Мне понравилось абсолютно всё! Это прекрасный отель, в котором все сделано с душой и продумано до мелочей! Прекрасный ужин и завтрак! Территория очень уютная, а номера - это произведение искусства! Pros:

A great place to stay. Beautiful property, the staff and owners are all very friendly and helpful. Lovely pool area to relax. Very nice breakfast and dinner. Safe parking on site. Would definitely recommend.

Anlage in die Jahre gekommen, nicht gepflegt- wir waren enttäuscht
Pros:

Das Hotel liegt nahe bei den cango caves.

Cons:

Nicht die gebuchte Zimmerkategorie bekommen, obwohl es bei der Buchung bei Booking bestätigt wurde. Auch die bei booking hinterlegte Option der Halbpension wurde auf Nachfrage von der Direktionsleitung abgelehnt. Wir wurden auf das hoteleigene und deutlich teurere Menü sowie externe Lokalitäten verwiesen. Die Entfernung zum nächsten Lokal war mindestens 4 km entfernt.
Der Pool war nicht gereinigt, beim Duschen lief das Wasser aus der Dusche und überschwemmte den Boden (defekte Duschkabine). Ein Bademantel war dreckig, viele braune Flecken. Das Zimmer hatte eine schöne Terrasse, aber leider weder Stühle zum Verweilen. Die Klimaanlage funktionierte auch nicht.

Pros:

It was a peaceful setting in the countryside. Beautiful, well taken care of property with the most beautiful pool. Really great restaurant that serve the most delicious food.

The staff are exceptional as well, they make you feel at home and special and every single guest is treated like this.

The owner took the time to talk to all the guests in the restaurant at every meal and she even offered to cook our one year old something for dinner and went ahead and did it. She stole our little girl’s heart and made our stay even more special.

This really is a home away from home…such a treat!

Sehr sichere, schöne und großzügig angelegte Lodge mit ungewöhnlichem Garten, Pool und tollen Räumlichkeiten. Die Angestellten sind herzlich und auch wenn mal etwas schief geht sofort zur Stelle. Absolute Empfehlung!

Easy quiet and in a lovely location

Great location

Cons:

We drove for hours to find the restaurant was closed so had to get back in the car again the hostess did help us find food at another resort which was kind, but it would have been nice to know it was closed as the property is not near the town .

Disappointed with the Stay! Dirty Pool and closed restaurant

Large comfortable rooms and great breakfasts

Cons:

Pool and pool towels were dirty. Very disappointing as the plan was to spend afternoon at the pool. Restaurant was closed with no notice. We specifically travelled to stay at this spot as we loved our times here more than a decade ago! The owners had passion and loved the place! It’s become very run down.
