Pros:

Die Wohnung haben wir so angetroffen wie vom Vermieter beschrieben. Die Wohnung ist für zwei Personen genug gross und clever eingerichtet. Für eine Familie sicherlich zu klein. Es hat genügend Stauraum. Alles ist sehr sauber und gut eingerichtet. Man könnte sich auch selber etwas Kochen. Küche ist gut ausgerüstet. Wir haben uns allerdings nur am Kaffee und Tee bedient. Der kleine Balkon mit direktem Blick auf das Matterhorn ist sehr romantisch mit Kerzen, Kissen und Schaffellen eingerichtet.

Cons:

Gibt nichts zu bemängeln. Der Bus ist 150m von der Wohnung entfernt. Ins Zentrum kann man in ca. 20 Minuten zu Fuss gehen.

A flawless experience — everything from the location and hospitality to the food was simply perfect.

The accommodation at Sonmatten Boutique Hotel & Apartments was, without exaggeration, one of the most enjoyable travel experiences I’ve had in Zermatt — a rare blend of authentic Alpine charm, modern comfort, and truly outstanding service.

The location is excellent, peaceful and slightly removed from the busiest areas, yet still very well connected to the town center and ski lifts. The mountain views are absolutely breathtaking, especially in the morning — with the iconic Matterhorn creating a picture-perfect backdrop.

The rooms are beautifully designed, combining traditional Swiss style with contemporary amenities. Everything is impeccably clean, and the attention to detail is evident throughout — from the quality materials to the thoughtful touches that elevate the entire stay.

What truly sets this place apart is the hospitality. The staff are exceptionally warm, professional, and attentive, always ready to assist while maintaining a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. It genuinely feels like they care about each guest’s experience.

Cons:

To be honest, I can’t really point out anything negative. Everything — the location, the amenities, the hosts and the food (the schnitzel was excellent!) — was spot on. It’s rare to find a place where you genuinely have nothing to complain about.

Pros:

l'emplacement dans un quartier calme de Zermatt -la vue incroyable sur le mont Cervin -le design de l'appartement avec l'immense baie vitrée pour se sentir dedans /dehors -le balcon pour prendre le soleil - et les bons petits déjeuners- et au dessus d'un restaurant donc pratique si vous devez diner le soir au restaurant.

Pros:

I like that the shuttle bus stop is right outside the hotel, and you can enjoy an unobstructed view of the Matterhorn from the backyard lounge area. The hotel also looks modern and clean, with a designated area for skis and ski boots. I asked for more towels and coffee capsules, and they provided them.

Cons:

There’s no elevator, and I wish the rooms were better soundproofed so I wouldn’t hear the pounding from upstairs. I also wish the ski room were slightly better designed so seating wouldn’t run out so quickly. It would also be nice if there were a heating system for drying towels.

Pros:

Ansich habe ich mich in diesem Zimmer ganz wohl gefühlt, es war gemütlich und ruhig, auch wegen der Lage im südöstlichen Winkel von Zermatt mit dem bezeichnenden Namen Winkelmatten, und glücklicherweise gleich bei der Bushaltestelle bei der hübschen Kapelle, wo ich schon so oft von den Bergen wieder in die Zivilisation gekommen war. Es hat zwar kein Frühstück hier, aber es gibt morgens zwei Gipfeli /Croissants pro Gast. Die Kaffeekapseln für die leicht zu bedienende Maschine werden nachgefüllt.

Cons:

Ein paar Dinge fehlen leider in dem Zimmer:
Z.B. ein Teller für die krümeligen Croissants.
Am meisten jedoch ein Heizkörper. Es war zwar nie wirklich kalt, trotz nachts geöffnetem Fenster im Februar und ausgeschalteter Klimaanlage, aber nachdem ich es doch etwas kühl fand und die Klimaanlage ein paar Stunden am Laufen hatte, war ich mir nicht sicher, ob ich einen merklichen Unterschied spüre, außer einem gelegentlichen Geräusch seitens der Klimaanlage. Vor allem ist das Problem, dass ich ohne Heizkörper meine Wäsche nicht trocken kriege, und das muss ich als Sporttourist. Das Waschen der Kleidung musste also bis zur nächsten Unterkunft warten.
Der Föhn funktioniert, leidet aber leider an einer Art Genickbruch, sprich, er knickt immer zusammen.
