Staff were very nice and location was very good. Pool was good and room was very comfortable.

Cons:

We enjoyed the breakfast, although the choice was set so a bit regimented, with so few guests an al a carte choice would be an improvement. Sea was on the rough side with some currents so we didn't swim in the sea.

Pros:

Absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The property is as beautiful as the photos suggest. The location - in essence, you've got a private beach in front of the hotel - means day will drift by, between beach, pool, sun loungers, restaurant, and back again. The food was the best in all of Sri Lanka - not a single dish was an afterthought, including the Western and vegetarian dishes. Every meal was a delight, from the day of arrival (lobster pasta, prawn curry), to the day of departure (chicken cordon bleu with parmesan sauce, crab soup). Looked forward to breakfast every day - a platter of super ripe fruit (procured from the market every morning at 5am, apparently), a lovely fruit smoothie, good coffee (a rarity in Sri Lanka, in my experience),, generous bread basket, and then a selection of a Sri Lankan breakfast or a European brunch type offer. So, there's absolutely no incentive to leave the hotel! Superb all round.

Персонал дійсно дуже добрий, хоч я і не дуже приємна людина, але вони всі посміхалися. Прибирання, сніданки, чистоту можна відмітити, також ресторан файний, бармен знає свою справу.

Cons:

Готель хоч і новий, але за 3роки вже місцями «втомився».
Дизайнеру порадив би прийняти ванну, з однієї сторони кран, з іншої клапан від переповнення, а злив підтікає, то це на один раз покупатися, бажання відпаде на більше.

Стіл, щоб попрацювати - давить в руки, бо там полка, яка висувається.

Більше всього печаль це за готелем, знов тук-тук, візьми тук-тук навіть на пляжі, зʼїж кокос, зазивали в ресторан.. ми ж не в міріссі або унаватуні, це вбиває відпочинок. Хоча на своєму пляжі ви в безпеці

I highly recommend it to those who want a quality vacation in a great boutique hotel.
Pros:

A hotel run with Swiss precision and organization. Beautiful design, immaculate cleanliness, trained and friendly staff. Delicious à la carte meals.
The beach is beautiful and clean, but it is difficult to swim due to the large waves and currents (but this is not the hotel's fault, as most of the island is like this).

Paradise by the beach
Pros:

Absolutely stunning. Was our last stop on a one month trip so spent a bit more than usual- well worth it. Building is stunning, right on the beach with bean bags for sunset! Staff are outstanding- especially Rohan, Sagan and Janika. Food is great too.

Maybe the best hotel I've ever stayed in.
Pros:

Beautifully designed select hotel with direct access to a stunning beach in a quiet location.
The quality of the food and drink at the hotel was fantastic, with great choices for all meals.
Staff could not be faulted.
There is also a courtesy tuktuk for guest use.

Cons:

Could have had a nespresso machine in bedrooms ( more a suggestion than criticism)

Cons:

The only thing it’s missing is a spa. Doesn’t need to be anything fancy, but a resident masseur that you can book would be great. Or maybe even a yoga class.

Magical.
Pros:

We had an absolutely magical stay at Villa Thamburu. The decor of the place is stunning and all the small details are absolutely nailed. It was so nice to be able to rest by the pool then just toddle down to the beach for a swim.

The food served at the restaurant is fantastic too. All in 10/10, would highly recommend!

Das Hotel ist ein Traum. Die Zimmer sind wunderschön und auch die Anlage ist super gepflegt und sauber. Jeder einzelne Mitarbeiter ist zuvorkommend und freundlich, man wird immer angelächelt und jeder ist bemüht, dass der Aufenthalt perfekt ist. Das Essen im Restaurant ist zwar etwas teuerer als überall anders, dafür ist es auch sehr lecker. Die Lage am Strand ist auch Top.

From the traditional Sri Lankan hoppers to the fresh international options, everything was high-quality, beautifully presented, and delicious. It was easily one of the best breakfast experiences I’ve had at a boutique hotel.
