Ik ben nog nooit in zo een goed hotel verbleven!!
Pros:

Dit was onze meest favoriete hotel in heel Sri Lanka. Ik denk niet dat er een hotel is dat hier snel aan zal tippen. Om enkele zaken te noemen die geweldig waren;
- het hotel zelf was ONGELOOFLIJK mooi, alles zat goed in elkaar, absoluut niet outdated
- toen we toekwamen hebben kregen we een warm ontvangst met de boodschap dat we een room upgrade hadden gekregen voor onze honeymoon
- het bed was zalig!
- ondanks het weer was de setting, de lounge, het zwembad, de zeteltjes echt fantastisch
- het personeel was uitermate vriendelijk, en niet storend dichtbij zoals is veel andere goede hotels. Ze komen niet te vaak vragen of alles wel in orde is, maar ze zijn er wel altijd wanneer je ze nodig hebt!!
- het eten was UITZONDERLIJK lekker, ik heb nergens in Sri Lanka zo lekker gegeten als hier
- normale prijzen voor kamer en eten, zeker niet duur, alles was heel duidelijk in de prijzen, in tegenstelling tot in veel andere hotels.

Kortom echt een fantastisch verblijf!!!

Cons:

Wij zijn echt kritische mensen en wij kunnen hier echt geen enkele slecht woord over zeggen. Ik kan alleen maar aanraden om hier naartoe te gaan!!!!

Our stay at Villa Thamburu was truly unforgettable and exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth by the reception team, who made check-in seamless and ensured we felt at home from the very beginning.

The chef deserves special recognition—the food was absolutely outstanding. Every meal was fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared, making each dining experience something to look forward to.

Every member of the staff was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive. They were always smiling, quick to help, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. A special thank you as well to the security guard, who was always welcoming, respectful, and made us feel safe and well looked after throughout our stay.

The room itself was immaculate, with exceptional cleanliness in every area. It was clear that great care is taken to maintain the property to the highest standards.

Thank you to the entire Villa Thamburu team for making our stay so special. Your outstanding hospitality, delicious food, attention to detail, and genuine care made this one of the best stays we’ve ever had. We highly recommend Villa Thamburu and can’t wait to return!

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Thamburu! The property is new, clean and well-maintained. The staff is so friendly and helpful. We loved the food as well - the breakfasts starts with fresh fruit and then you can pick your mains so everything is prepared fresh. We also loved the pork and cashew curries from the dinner menu. There are some other restaurants in the area, but we chose to eat in the villa each night because it was that good! We also enjoyed watching the sunset on beanbags with drinks each night. Staying here was so relaxing and we can't wait to come back!

Die ruhige Atmosphäre, das außergewöhnlich gute Essen und das Service möchten wir besonders hervorheben. Wir haben 3 wundervolle Tage hier verbracht. Die Architektur hat uns sehr angesprochen. Ein Fitness und Spa Bereich ist in Planung, was ein zusätzlicher Punkt sein wird, dass wir gerne zurück kommen werden.

Eine der besten Hotel Erfahrungen, die ich jemals hatte 😍 Absolute Empfehlung.
Pros:

Das Design ist sehr geschmackvoll und jedes Detail wurde überlegt und liebevoll gestaltet. Ein Hotel, in dem ich mich ab dem ersten Moment 100% wohl gefühlt habe. Die nahe Lage zur Straße ist clever gelöst, sodass man davon fast nichts mitbekommt. Dafür ist die Nähe zum leeren Strand einfach traumhaft. Das Essen ist hervorragend, der Service super freundlich und es wurde alles möglich gemacht ob Cocktail am Strand bei Sonnenuntergang, Early Checkin oder besondere Essenswünsche. Außerdem sieht und spürt man einfach, dass sich alle Angestellten wirklich gut um das Hotel und die Gäste kümmern.

Excellent beach front property
Pros:

Beautiful water front location. Very quaint and quiet. Exceptional beach. Rooms are good.

Cons:

Floors are very slippery.
Vegetarian food options are limited but whatever is available is good. But there is food all around Bentota and we didn’t find that to be a big issue especially since we don’t like being locked in the property the entire day.

Staff were very nice and location was very good. Pool was good and room was very comfortable.

Cons:

We enjoyed the breakfast, although the choice was set so a bit regimented, with so few guests an al a carte choice would be an improvement. Sea was on the rough side with some currents so we didn't swim in the sea.
