Apartments at The Black

Accommodation clean and comfortable. Lounge and kitchen/ dining area very nice. The bed was comfortable and shower good. Location great. Lovely village. Nice, quiet street. Basic locals pub next door ( Grey Bull) for a drink/ football and Battlesteads inn nearby which was nicer and food good. Good location for Roman remains, Go Ape at Matfen, Kielder water. Car essential though. Lots of nice walks around.

It was well organised, best place we have been with a dog, highly recomnend, excellent pub meal 3 min walk, other places to eat and drink in a short drive, shop across the road, plenty to visit nearby,

I can’t rate the property highly enough. It was clean, bright and airy. It had everything we needed including a fully equipped kitchen, tea/coffee, condiments and a lovely touch by the owners to provide milk, fruit and biscuits. The location was perfect! The village of Wark has a hotel/restaurant, pub, shop and cafe. It’s a short drive to places of interest. Our dog was welcome and we had a fenced off area for her to come and go.

The apartment was immaculate, and very comfortable. Felt like home from home. The scenery around us was absolutely beautiful. Looking forward to coming back. And we will be recommending to friends and family. We've had some amazing days out. And the cafe nextdoor is superb. Wendy is the most wonderful lady and very knowledgeable.

everything you needed to cook, towels, dog treats and poo bags for the dog, ice machine, laundry room, private space for the dog, comfortable, clean, beds and pillows to die for, excellent hosts, we already booked to go back for our anniversary in October. An absolutely perfect stay, excellent value

Lovely property, beautifully presented with great facilities

Everything about this property was fantastic from start to finish. The communication in advance was easy to follow and clear. Everything at the apartments is clearly labelled and there was nothing extra I could think of that wasn’t provided - including washing up liquid, tea towel, cooking oil and all the pans and crockery you could possibly want!
The dog facilities were excellent and it was lovely sitting in the back yard knowing the dogs were safe and happy.

Lovely place to stay as a base for a wedding near Hexham. Nice walk by the river.

The apartment was clean, tidy and well furnished throughout. There is private parking immediately in front of the premises and a lovely, enclosed garden area to the rear. Local immenities include a village shop, a couple of pubs and a cafe. We stayed here earlier this year and were so impressed that we returned for a longer visit.

Very well appointed and spotlessly clean. Very comfy beds, well equipped and in a beautiful location. Staff very helpful, internet went down and it was fixed as soon as they were notified.
